g13webb
So what did Chris say then Speak to him personally did you ? Yes, I did speak with Chris personally. He said he was well pleased to be a KL, he's looking forward to the challenge, he has plenty of friends and riders based locally and cant wait to get started. When questioned about Poole, he replied he would always have a connection with the area, not necessary the club...was pleased to have the opportunity of riding in the UK again..... I think that meant a lot to him.... I didn't want to delve any deeper into the reason why, was just pleased he is here and wants to ride for Lynn. Lets live today, and let tomorrow take care of itself....
lynnboy
I'm sure holder is good friends with Lewis Rose which may help bring lewis on a bit, as I'm sure Lewis and Chris go moto x together, his main sponsor in the U.K. Is based up this way, good friends with Batchelor, the people he use to live with when he first came to the uk are only 30 miles down the road. so I'm sure he will settle well in our area and won't want to go back to ride for Poole again !
SteveLyric2
There were some personal issues with Chris - most of them off track - which affected him especially in the first half of the season. Davey Watt also had personal off track issues to deal with. They only become Pirate issues if/when they start affecting performances as Davey found out to his cost. MF certainly had words with Chris mid-season. Whether they can be classified as a 'falling out' or not is pure conjecture. I prefer to go with Chris' father, Mick Holder, who has confirmed there is no issue between MF and Chris other than speedway's numbers game which has disappointedly meant that Chris didn't fit into Poole' preferred 1-7. I'm as pleased as Chris that he has a place in UK speedway and delighted that he is professional enough to say the right things to his new fanbase. Whether his off-track situation affects his on-track performance we shall have to wait and see. I hope not.
Steve Shovlar
One thing does need to be said. Chris Holder is immensely popular at Poole and forever will be. He is a club legend and Poole fans regard him with utter respect. There should be no bitterness or arguments between Poole and Kings Lynn fans because he is no longer riding for Poole. I am sure many Poole fans will still support Noddy in the GP series as will Kings Lynn fans. A true servant to British speedway. Hopefully he will come back to Poole in future years but I would rather he was riding for another UK club than lost to the UK. I for one wish him every success in 2017.

It's odd that you can all just accept him going with a shrug of the shoulders, I wouldn't if he had 'legend' status! To me, it seems as though Poole fans don't really care too much about the person ...
SteveLyric2
As SS has said Chris Holder remains a firm favourite with the majority of Poole fans and will be welcomed back at some point - even when KL visit in 2017 - but he does have the propensity to disappoint some people with some of his 'ill-judged' comments on occasions. This may not come across to many fans but is perhaps more obvious to those closer to him eg sponsors, officials etc. Lets hope that Buster is able to provide a track that is correctly prepared for him as well as the other 6 riders. Well it's a sure fact he will have a better home track to ride on in 2017 than he has has in last few years he's been quite critical of the Poole track surface he won't be moaning next year
Bagpuss
Even though the racing has diminished in recent years for whatever reason Lynn has been smooth and consistent 99% of the time and Holder's scores have always been good there. A bit more dirt round the outside and I'm sure riders and fans alike will be happy.

Steve Shovlar
Sure Noddy was critical at one stage last year but the track was sorted. Kings Lynn used to be a good race track but over the last few years the Kings Lynn fans have been moaning about lack of passing. In my last 4 visits I can confirm that has been the case. In comparison, the Poole track brings up superb racing virtually every week. I hope the Kings Lynn track will be sorted this winter and get back to the good race track it once was. As it is now, its one of the poorer tracks in the top flight.

I hope Holder has a good season and he has been professional and said all the right things to please his new fans.
gimli27
We havnt just shrugged our shoulders Trees we have to accept that whatever the real reason Chris is not at Poole we are happy to see him stay in the uk and enjoy watching him albeit against us and cross fingers he comes back to Poole in the near future
