Halifaxtiger
Still harsh whatever way to look at it. Ur gona defend the club aint ya. I think its harsh, too. From the Isle of Wight facebook page, so does Barry Bishop. But its also the right decision. The Warriors simply cannot carry on the way they are now and desperately need a stronger team, particularly at home. Standing in the promotions shoes, I doubt there are many who wouldn't have done the same thing.
Lord Skid
The IOW need Riders experienced on big tracks, who are used to Racing fast, watched Dugard having a practice, he was hugging the white line, like he was glued to it, that's definitely not the quickest way round that track, thought someone would have pointed that out to him. I'm not saying it's not harsh on Kelsey, but I think he and others understand the move to strengthen the team.

Sings4Speedway
The sport is a numbers & performance game and will always be harsh on some. Campos is never going to be on my exciting riders list but he can do a solid job and score the additional points that IOW need to get some wins on the board. I know all Teams have the same issues but, The Warriors were 0.04 off of having Campos and being able to put Kelsey at reserve. When you see it in Blak and White it makes you think. Kelsey could have been at Reserve where he neeeds to be with his current confidence levels but, it is what it is frustrating

Moleman27
Well at least it gives them a full 1 to 7.
TurnTwo
Terrible signing should have just kept using guests for Govier Unless this is for Mullins in which rr for Govier makes them a tad stronger I guess with wifman taking say a heat 8 ride? Think there is limited time a team can use guests for a rider they have parted company with? Ultimately Portwood is keen, prepared to travel to IOW & was another let down by Kings Lynn so nice to see him fixed up.
Moleman27
He scored quite well in their meeting they did, so will score a good few points per meeting, which is better than the guests were doing and their were not any better options

I think you're not upto date. Mullins left ages ago and Govier is at reserve, which is where Portwood slots in. As has been said, it gives the fans a full 1 to 7 and the Warriors fans want a full team to support even if they're not a championship winning septet. TurnTwo
Sorry I see, I still do not see the point though when they can just use spooner etc?
teaboy279
Portwood beat Spooner and O Keefe to win the amateur meeting at kent recently. Looked awful in his first and by the end of the night he was very good. Certainly think the lad has potential. And certainly will score at reserve. HagueyUK
I just thought I would add my thoughts to the news of Adam's signing on the Island. I must confess, up until last Thursday I hadn't heard of Adam, so I was looking forward to seeing a new rider tackle the Smallbrook track for the first time. I have to say, although behind the camera all night, he certainly did enough for me to inquire about him after the meeting, and on watching back his races during the editing, he really showed much guts and determination on bends 3 and 4 to not only go up the banking, but also mix it to hold position coming out of the corner with some more experienced riders on his inside with tight racing. That alone shows a will and determination on track that warrants a call up and a chance of some National League racing. The other thing being the better riders started behind him and had to pass him, in usual circumstances the heat leaders would probably be out the gate first so for him not to be fazed and to fight hard in close passing for his position was really great to see. So I was pleased when I heard of his announcement in the team. Lets give him some time and space to carry on and build from there with the Warriors team and see how he goes. Dickie Head
My brother went to the recent meeting when David Wallinger was injured. This resulted in a delay of over an hour. Every resourceful, the Warriors management held some impromptu games for the youngsters to keep them entertained during the stoppage. How many other clubs would have had the gumption to do this? Well done (again) IOW.

Well done (again) IOW. Hey, I am glad someone spotted this... believe it or not this is something we had discussed at the start of the season of last season and even with the unfortunate David, the medical teams, the fence repair crew, we still managed to get a message to Angie Cooper (who works with school kids) to embark on operation - "entertain the kids".... it worked and was pretty well received. Thanks for the feedback.. Barry
