East End Fan
"Speedball" gives his opinion about pay scales in the National League, quoting that it's wrong to pay a rider a £600 guarantee. Now I do NOT believe in paying riders guarantees as it is against the spirit of the sport as an entity imo...BUT, as I see it, the National League is a business just as much as the senior leagues and so promoters are entitled to do ( within the rules) whatever they wish to enhance their business. If that means paying a rider over the odds, it is only the same thing that happens in the upper leagues, so who should criticise ? But frankly I do NOT believe that ANY promoter at this level finds it necessary to pay guarantees of the kind quoted and I have friends among some top riders who confirm my thoughts. Islander15
Clegg would be eligible as his new Championship average is 3.10 That's a Birmingham road to go down and off topic tbh. That rule has been applied every year as a starting average and not a current average. Until Carr, but now he's been dropped and conveniently the date he couldn't ride NL was until he got dropped so make of that as you do. Greg
Clegg or Adam R would be good either choice either or Richard Hall . Or Shane H would be a good move.
Brummies_Ste
Clegg would be eligible as his new Championship average is 3.10 If Max Clegg is allowed back in the NL his final av from 2016 would have to be used which is 10.8 Liam Carr Has slotted into Birmingham's team on his 2016 av with Coventry 7.11 which is lower than Danyon Hume's 2016 av 7.
TMW
Chris is fine this morning a little bettered after his smash last night which caused him to have to withdraw from the meeting. Thanks all for asking Edited May 16, 2017 by TMW
Bunce
I've booked a hotel for 4-days down there, so as to take in the meeting, and it was non-refundable as from midnight last night!! Get yourself a touring caravan. Thousands of lovely sites all over the country, many near speedway tracks, and you will pay around £20 a night including all facilities and an electric hook up for the van. Pay per night as you go, and if plans change, hook up and come home. Job done! Any more news on the condition of Danny Phillips? I was at Mildenhall when he had his crash, and it was a nasty one. cityrebel
Lynn would be a bit of a long trek for magic.
mrss
It goes from bad to worse for the Young Stars. Taylor Hampshire is the latest rider to take a break from the team. Sam woods is taking his place. Seems I am wrong. Adam Portwood is taking Hampshires team place.
Bagpuss
If only they had been so sharp in replacing Hughes. This team is crying out for two heatleaders, would be interested to know why Clegg has ended up at Buxton and not Lynn.
Speedway28
Huge shame to see that Hampshire has taken a break. Looked to have a huge amount of promise near the end of last year but just hadn't happened for him this time out, was hardly riding his bike on Sunday. Hopefully he can return soon. I wonder if Sam Bebee's awful accident had an effect on him, they're clearly very good friends.

Fixture cancellations out of the blue and a non proactive management I dunno why they don't just give up with NL rather than get made a mockery of by every other team in the league... Hampshire has seen the light now and moved on I wont be surprised if others follow, if theres anyone else left of course Edited May 23, 2017 by Al3x200
Dandelion
Why hasn't Shane Hazelden got a team? And what bout Jake Knight? Dave Mason would be better than no rider, would he not?
mrss
Hazelden isn't fit . J Knight says he has got a team but hasn't said where. David Mason is to old.

I wonder if Sam Bebee's awful accident had an effect on him, they're clearly very good friends. I have to wonder if Hampshire would have been better waiting for his chance at Mildenhall? Definitely potential there but perhaps he was placed into NL a little to early? Not sure the last time i saw / heard of Portwood being on a bike so i suspect he will be a little rusty. Fingers crossed Kings Lynn can turn things around but there does seem to be a definite slide since Allitt has stepped away from the team. East End Fan
Kings Lynn Young Stars are owned and run by the chairman of the BSPA, but it is turning out to be a bit of a disaster this year. Shame, because there is always plenty of local talent in Norfolk. Maybe Mr Chapman should be a bit more "Hands On" ?
GARRYH
Shane is fit and has been practicing for a few weeks now. New race suit on order as everything was cut off by paramedics when he broke his leg

Didn't realize Shane had been injured, hope he's recovered and can get a team place somewhere soon, also Jake KNight might just sign for King's Lynn That might be his team place he's talking about
