John Leslie
The biggest sports club in the world has a logo with a devil on it. Can't see them selling as much merchandise if they changed it to a photo of a blood-pressured Graham Drury dressed as a sheep's head. Devil Logo

Ghosty
Come on then Mark & Laurence if your fans dislike the proposed Devil so much, run a competition for a new Devil/ Devils logo run it in conjunction with the local paper the Herald & present the winners with a signed race jacket on opening night!

There is already plans in place to get the local schools and colleges and newspapers involved in design for the 2018 season, however the time allocation for this season was very short as I am sure you will appreciate and although some like it, some hate it , everyone is talking about it ...........please realise that it is not all about pleasing our current fanbase, it is also about bringing new spectators in, love it or hate it, people are talking about it ! We possibly have 5 % of this forum thinking about the race bib, If I can get 5% of Plymouth and the surrounding area it would have made its purpose and I would be a very happy person. There is 260,000 people in Plymouth alone, 5% = 13000, if 5% of those decide to have a look , that equates to an extra 650 people through the turnstiles. I hope the 2018 design will have the same effect as this one.

Jonnybegood
Team suits or no team suits that is the question
Islander15
Team suits or no team suits that is the question Seems an unnecessary extra expense to me if you can have team race jackets instead. That still keeps the team colours and vibe going.
Nathan Mole
Personally if you wanna make speedway more professional, then yes to team suits If every promotion did what Eastbourne did, where they get fans or businesses to sponsor each riders suits . Which costs £450 and then the sponsor gets to keep it at the end of the season.
roguetrader
Team suits or no team suits that is the question I think it is a great idea and an indication of the professional approach you are taking. However, there are two issues for me. The priority must be the air fence. £4000 would go a long way towards that. Also it is inevitable that you will not finish the season with the team you start with for various reasons, injury, performance availability etc. Would every change to the team require a team suit? If not then half a team with and half a team without would look odd, unprofessional and defeat the point of what you are trying to achieve. Nathan Mole
That was answered last season, where we had quite a few injuries and the answer is that the new riders get suits made as well.

What a waste of money! If the riders are going fast enough then nobody will notice if they are wearing a race suit or a birthday suit.
barncooseboy
As for the race jackets need a local vicar to condemn them in a statement around about March 20 to get front page of The Herald and maybe a couple of the nationals as well, could rattle on for a few days in the papers Should make sure the opening meeting gets noticed.
roguetrader
Is James Shanes riding National League this season? Surely Plymouth are after him. Would it be a risk with his grasstrack and longtrack commitments especially after choosing the scarlet pimpernel Boxall. birchfield aces
It would seem to me that Plymouth have to get a good 2nd heat leader to back up Boxall, with a few good heat leaders not yet committed, quite a choice still exists James Shanes 8.53, Ellis Perks 8.25, Kyle Hughes 8.67 or Oliver Greenwood 8.00 unless any of these are not racing National League in 2017?
