Might have a good chance of some top riders with the event being at the start of the year, bound to be someone who's in need of a cobweb shifter?

screm
Please accept my sincere apologies Jenga I will not make any observation against any Workington rider again after this post ( CAMPTON and Proctor will let you down my opinion ) Â Certainly with Campton I agree with you, Workington seem to see something that I`m afraid I cant and I see another season of averageness from Campton, and giving the kind of faith, and the efforts Workington have put in to sign him being just average isnt good enough IMO.
scaramanga
workington management hold campton higher than the workington fans do but we did see odd nights where it looked like someonelse was in camptons kevlars
Olga
Here's hoping Campton can improve - I genuinely hope so. Â Sadly ... for every odd night that Campton showed promise there were 4-5 poor nights especially away from home. His average last season shows his lack of progress overall ... and he's seen all the tracks before. Evidence to date doesn't bode well in my opinion for the upcoming season ... but hopefully he will make the jump. Sadly I suspect his scores will only pick up if he drops to reserve - but we have brought him in as a No. 2 or 4 ... so that again imo would be "false" improvement ... he needs to come in this season and start averaging 6 or 7 (not occasional scores of 6 - 7 but actually averaging 6 -7). Â Let's not forget also that teams are built this year to a lower a overall average (40.0 per team) ... so I can only assume the Comets Mgt believe with his experience he will pick off other riders with less experience and lower averages. Â Fingers crossed

W.T.F. do people want ? me, i want music and entertainment on a Saturday night .  happy to have speedway back and as an added bonus , mason as well .  almost forgot to add just how good rene was when he was with us ,not . started on a 7+ finished on a 7.  you could say that about any rider, no matter who he is ..  when are we getting a drone cam dan ?
Olga
Agree ... Â The only difference is all those riders have been at a higher level than Mason ... so a dropped average for those boys is more understandable given they have Heat 13 and 15 to deal with. Mason has yet to reach those levels yet ... which I think is where a lot of worry comes in. Â Yep me too ... I'm glad the Comets mgt are persevering and speedway is "on" again ... just waiting for the season to start now ... I can almost smell the bikes ha ha ha ha

Hansen has been riding for years and 10x the experience of Mason. But yet he was the biggest let down in Comets colours last year. Â You have to remember Campton has had the Visa issues haven't helped meaning he has only had 3 full seasons in England (spending only 1 month at reserve at Glasgow and 2 meetings for Workington). Â What did Roynon do last year that Campton didn't? I don't believe Roynon performed well. If Campton was poor all year, Roynon would have been in the main team much earlier, giving Campton time to build his confidence. But it didn't happen and nobody questions him. Think it's very harsh on Campton.
Olga
I could well be wrong on this ... I don't remember Hansen ever being in a reserve birth for Comets? Apologies if this is not the case. Â With the level of injuries sustained by Roynon ... I think it's incredible he rides at all ... can't knock that

Yes I do agree with you there but you have to remember Campton broke his collarbone in the first meeting and rode through the pain barrier while it was still broken. Roynon should not be judged any different.

I think it's incredible he rides at all ... can't knock that  I think Kong is right about making a comparison between Roynon and Campton and Campton getting all the flak is unfair.  I totally agree that it id remarkable that Roynon still rides but, in picking a successful team, that cannot be a relevant factor. A club that chooses its team members on a sympathy vote is headed for the bottom of the league.  Not that Workington have done that. However, in my view, there is as much pressure on Roynon to perform as Campton and, indeed, I think they hold the key to Comets success or failure this season.
