Workington 2017

Think TJ will be a big player in the league this season if he can avoid injury.Googd signing IMO .

He might be, but over a number of seasons, he hasn't demonstrated nearly enough to be considered a top rider in the league, which makes me wonder why he is going to suddenly make a big jump forward this season.

At best, he is a good second/third heat leader, rather than an out and out number one rider.

He had a long term shoulder injury and had an operation to sort it out last winter and he had a knock at the start of last season and it took him a while to get over both but had a good 2nd half of the season. He is a racer and gives it 100% which is all you can ask for.Wish Berwick had kept him,as I'm sure other would agree.Best of luck to him. Sadly there's nothing to excite me so far in the signings announced by Workington...a pity as it's my nearest track and I was looking forward to attending more meetings next year now that my son is a little older.

If the other signings are in the same vein another season of mid-table mediocrity awaits.

That's an aspiration for some of us! ;)

To be fair Berwick did want him, TJ made his mind up to be elsewhere, but IO wish him well where ever he rides

I wonder how much the track influenced TJ ,it's "gate and go" nature means riders like him "bust a gut" and get nowhere.Think that was the same with Bellego.Workington has a bit more width about it which will suit him IMO .

TJ is a gater with quick reactions that most referees pick on as an unsatisfactory start. He can, also, wind it on if you have some dirt on your track.

TJ tends to prefer a slick track, the rest of what you say is OK. Never understood when a rider is perfectly still does not touch the tapes and refs like Jim McGreggor brink them back because they were to quick out of the trap

I am surprised that some are underwhelmed.

Campton is questionable but there's more to come from Williamson and Jorgensen is an excellent signing.

What pulled me to Workington last season was the quality of the racing and providing my chauffeur is still at the track I'll be coming a lot more in 2017.

For me there is a distinct whiff of same old, same old developing here which, considering lNot been particularly inspired by the signings so far, just going to hope the rest are the main course we're all really waiting for that can change the fortunes of the Comets next year after several false dawns?

ast season, is not a good sign, too many of the same ramblings about "improving averages" from riders who should be improved/improving already but, once here, always seems a struggle to do exactly that, maybe for Campton he should buy a couple of engines from Ricky Wells as that was the only time he ever scored any points and showed that "he could" actually ride against and beat some of the better riders, has to happen early doors tho, cant afford to fail again?

Will look forward to the next exciting installment of the Comets team building plans with interest!! :t:

Not true. Thomas made contact with Berwick several times without reply so made the decision to accept

offers from other clubs.
