Hunters
BSPA fixtures say second leg at Mildenhall on 29th so it looks like the Eagles v Former Eagles will be called off. Pity, I was kind of hoping that the vacant No 3 spot would be BWD.
gazzac
It's on our site saying the Mildenhall leg 4.00 pm and the challenge match at 6.00 pm, so does seem the challenge match will be knocked on the head. Again the inability to get enough fixtures done earlier in the year affects fixtures at the end of the season. Sunday at 6.00 unfortunately is no good for me, so having gone all year will miss out on hopefully winning the ko cup again. Just think back to the nice Saturday evenings in the spring and summer with no fixtures, and if we get a few wet days next weekend it won't get completed. cityrebel
Like you say, for a seaside town like Eastbourne not to have a full home fixture list in the summer months is insanety. They are not alone in this madness though, are they.

gee jay
i don't think it's anything to do with insanity , just pure necessity unfortunately . stock car meetings take priority when the schools are out. from the pictures i have seen of packed terraces and stands , from just the rubbish that's left behind i would guess that they take more money from food and drink at these meetings than they do from the entrance money from speedway . if there were no cars i doubt if there would be any speedway at arlington . that's not to say i'm happy about it but it's certainly the lesser of 2 evils as i used to watch newport . cityrebel
The vast majority of stock car meetings are on Wednesday nights and bank holiday Mondays. I don't see how they could have an impact on Saturday speedway.

Islander15
Arent Sundays in August a better alternative than ending up using Sundays in October though?
Hunters
Any idea's who takes Mountains place tonight? They will be looking for at least 12/13 points from 6 rides from the guest if they are to keep the score down for the second leg I would think. TurnTwo
Taking my phone off twitter notifications for when eagles tweet just had my phone go into a meltdown with all those area tweets good promotion though.
Islander15
Probably not; dust becomes a real problem as we found out in our first season in NL when we tried Sundays. I see your point but its only swapping one unwanted weather for another: dust for a freezing cold Oct evening and other clubs manage the dust. For example Buxton and Mildenhall run in the afternoon and Scunny run afternoon double headers in May & August
Argos
Just spoke to a colleague of mine that went to the match tonight he informed me the attendance was very very poor, anyone else that was there could they confirm this, or was it OK
Moleman27
No it was poor, but was one because virtually no Mildenhall fans their and alot of Eastbourne regulars werent their as know many work Sundays as get the Saturdays off so they can go so cant do Sundays. cityrebel
It was a poor turn out, but the match was rearranged and the weak opposition probably put a lot of people off.
stevec
Yeh, agree turn out was not good but hell, even I nearly did not go. It clashed with Formula One, Sunday evenings are about relaxing and sleeping off the Mrs's epic roast dinner and it was COLD!! That, coupled with the weak opposition and that fact that its just the first leg, certainly made it a meeting for the hardiest of fans. woofers
It clashed with Formula One,....... Whhaaat ! F1, used to be interesting in the days of Senna, Prost and Mansell but has now become the most tedious motorsport event. I gave up watching F1 when Coulthard suggested that "this race will be really exciting because it's all down to the tyre and refuelling strategies".....Yawn! Now, try Moto GP - this is the one where you chose your tyres, fill your bike with fuel and go out and race. No stopping, no orders, no radio. Just racing. The races from Philip Island yesterday were outstanding. Get it on catch up if you haven't already seen it, you wont be disappointed. Having said that, I used to go to Silverstone every year but have not been for the last 5 or 6. Yeh, I watch moto gp, Superbikes, touring cars. If its on tarmac....I watch it err..and shale!
