Paddy The Rebel
Shows how difficult it is going for all the teams & I hope admission prices get dropped as a result. That's the key for this to work they need to drop it to 15 across the board to get interest, and the championship down to 13. waiheke1
Harris Newman Lambert Batch K Bjerre Klindt Bewley. not particular inspiring at 4 and 5, but both should be genuine HL in this competition.
SCB
Schlein, Lambert, Bjerre, Klindt, Batchelor, Watt, Bates. 6 riders who have achieved averages primarily as EL heatleaders in the last couple of seasons. Plus Josh Bates as he's about all that fits. Would start with Batchelor in reserve with Bates
waiheke1
Not sure about watt. but agree on Schlein, should have named him in my side ahead of Newman. Would still go harris/Bewley rather than watt/bates. though I agree bates is good value.

Steve0
Here goes K Kasprzak 11.07 K Newman 6.31 T Batchelor 7.36 J Holder 7.16 D Watt 7.56 L Kerr 6.16 D Bewley 4.00 49.62 total If that is the standard of a Premiership team in 2017 then speedway will continue to struggle to retain and grow their fan base. If I was a lower average rider in a team with someone starting on a 12+ average, I would be concerned that I wouldn't be there for very long - that's hardly good for the fans or the riders concerned!
ray c
all i can see on the averages available there is not going to be enough riders about seems to me some riders are all ready out of a job have to wait and see
Wayne Langford
it's easy for a team to get good riders. wait for holder / Doyle them sort rider averages to drop from 12 to 9. use them 3 points spare plus who ever else drops average and bring in the sayfutdinov / pederson good riders. it's waiting game for 1st set averages to come out

GregoryM
Have I got what you are saying right-not enough riders around to fill the places-but some won`t have jobs ???? I think ray c is alluding to the fact that teams will have spaces to fill and, whilst there are unemployed riders around to fill them, their averages won't fit. Perhaps with so many 'false' averages around this was the year to have a grading system to build 2017 teams. Not perfect, but it might have done the job this year until everyone has established a new average from the same race format in both leagues and have averages back for 2018 team building The questions then, of course, would be how to convert one league average to another, and how would a rider be assessed for 2018 if he hasn't ridden in 2017? I suppose there is no perfect solution.

Batchelor's average would be fourth highest in that side. Building a strong team is harder than it looks, so far the best I could come up with is: Masters 8.88 Watt 7.56 K.Bjerre 8.22 Batchelor 7.37 Lambert 8.76 Wajknecht 2 Schlein 7.17 Total: 49.96 That's assuming two pointers are allowed in the Premiership. Ben91
swap out Masters and Watt for Lindgren and Newman? I'd personally prefer Masters and Watt as you'd always be guaranteed a strong reserve and I reckon that could be key. Newman may struggle to reach a six point average in this league IMO. ray c
I reckon a shrewd promotor in the 2nd league could easily put a good team together to challenge any of the teams in the first league or get very close
Hamish McRaker
I bet that Mr Klindt will be quite popular with his 5.42 PL average....
