Promotion and relegation has been introduced so they should be made to work their way back up. Forget promotion and relegation, Sheffield, Ipswich and probably Lakeside are all going up. The Premiership is hoping to have between 10-12 clubs. I think the promotion thing was introduced before Coventry and Lakeside withdrew, so there would have been 10 clubs in each. If he does confirm they are in the premiership next year and doesn't go up then you can say how right you are. On the other hand if he confirms they are going up,and they actually do then it's egg on the face for you. Best to wait and see before calling people a liar, in case it backfires on you. I meant that more from the new stadium point of view, if the club wants to race in the top flight I would be reasonably confident it will happen. But as I said with his track record of saying one thing and doing another there will be more than a few doubters. Well you just leave us happy clappers to support the club and you can always run along to Rye Far too young to make a comeback. What's Alan Sage doing these days? He can stick himself next to Hurry or Kelvin at reserve. Hopefully AJ could be tempted as a signing like that could well tempt some back and maybe even some of the fans who went Rye especially if they pick a team from the retirement home again. There is Kim Nilsson of course, a Lakeside asset and Lewi Kerr would be back like a shot, given half a chance. Ed Kennet is a track specialist and could be in the frame after Rye booted him out. Stuart Robson is a club asset and might just have enough left in the tank for a season at reserve, and Scott Nicholls has wanted to come for years but he is admittedly getting a bit long in the tooth for a leading role now. I think the bigger problem is the fans who have just gone off and found something else to do. I can think of quite a familiar faces that have just disappeared. Once people go it's very difficult to get them back. The sport is in a very sorry state and a very watered down top league is not helping. Swindon got relegated back in 1991, remember what happened then Grachan Yup. They never went down. Another waste of time with having relegation. Can't remember the exact reason given, but I seem to recall it involved Berwick. If you are going to have promotion and relegation then have it and do it properly, or don't do it at all.
