East End Fan
Understand how you feel, Liam, Most fans are followers of one club and find it hard to switch loyalties. I am a bit fortunate in that, although a Hammers fan from the days of yore, I can enjoy good speedway even when the Hammers are not running. Switched to Hackney when West Ham closed and loved it there. Nowadays I do Lakeside for most meetings but also add the odd meeting at Eastie and Kent as they are not too far away. Have been to Rye House this year, but strangely enough I find myself preferring the National League.
Moleman27
Yep I understand that East End Fan, have found the racing far more exciteting week in week out in the National League than when Eastie were in the elite league.
Islander15
I think too many people don't give NL racing a chance. Many fans of several clubs still enjoy it as much, if not more, than higher level racing.
The Voice Of Reason
Just looking at the Lakeside Fixture List: http://www.lakesidehammers.co/fixtures/ There appear to be 2 league meetings left between now and September 3rd (with a Reserved date for 16th September). Even including this Reserved Date (reserved for what I wonder?), that makes a total of 13 meetings - one less than was offered to season ticket holders: http://www.lakesidehammers.co/season-tickets-still-available/ So I was just curious what are the plans if Lakeside don't make the play-offs/play-off final? cityrebel
No doubt another challenge match against kent, just to save on the refund!
The Voice Of Reason
Well that would be pretty amazing.... given we pulled out of the K.O. Cup because meetings couldn't be fitted in.
East End Fan
Not a very satisfactory state of affairs. Season ticket holders must be a bit peeved. I hope that next season, Lakeside are able to put a proper fixture list together with a meeting every week. I'm sure the crowd would increase if they do. I have been going to other tracks this year to get my "Fix" and I would much sooner pay my money at Lakeside.

This season ticket holder is peeved that we pulled out of the KO cup when there was a perfectly suitable reserved date, 11th August. All riders from both sides appear to have been available. Even more absurd is that when the original fixture list was produced, this was the date selected to ride against the now defunct Belle Vue/Coventry side. HAMMER180
Goes from bad to worse now we have no ben and of course zac on Friday as riding for rye that's a guaranteed 25/30 points we have got to make up can someone tell me how rye and Newcastle get first dippings on ben and alfie when they only signed for them mid season and they have been with us from the off the playoffs look a long way away now if we cant get a settled side for the run in
marko
That's a massive miss for the Hammers, you simply cannot replace that sort of scoring power at home, will need the bottom three to really step up and I personally don't think the have the ability to do that. Could be an interesting meeting though if Boxall's clutch continues to effectively give him "rolling starts" and I believe Tom Bacon has a reputation for jumping too? waco
Looking a likely win for Mildenhall on friday ,,no way can they cover for Zack and Ben Morley i think they should have first call on riders signed at the beginning of the season ..Play offs will look less likely if they lose on friday,,which means a loss of more meetings at lakeside,,Costly for the club and the riders and a big turn off for the fans,,,,,,
E I Addio
can someone tell me how rye and Newcastle getfirst dippings on ben and alfie when they only signed for them midseason and they have been with us from the off That's easy to answer . After the teams were selected on one set of rules the BSPA changed the rules to give the higher league team preference even though the rider is an asset of the NL club. One can only assume that the BSPA are determined to destroy the sport in this country. They just don't get if that nothing turns the crowd away quicker than a team full of guests
waco
Actually Ben Morley is a Rye House asset..still decimates the team he has been riding for all season though...
liam
It's a joke really but then again speedway is one big joke in this country. Ben is irreplaceable at Lakeside
marko
This is what i said back in February "The key for this team will be the presence of Ben and Zach, the latter could have clashes when riding with Swindon and there was a rumour going around at the COS (celebration of speedway) yesterday that Ben is lined up to be a Rye House rider once the first set of averages are produced"
The Voice Of Reason
They just don't get if that nothing turns the crowd away quicker than a team full of guestsPulling out of competitions, and subsequently having infrequent meetings, hardly gets the turnstiles merrily clicking away either. I wonder if the new tractor driver will have his usual face like a smacked arse; and be moaning about the attendance on Friday? Assuming he turns up. marko
Taken from the BBC news site If your intending to go to Lakeside Friday better allow plenty of time for your journey. When will be busiest?According to the RAC, Friday afternoon from about 15:00 to 19:00 is likely to be the busiest as drivers heading off for the weekend mix with the normal commuting traffic.
