EnglishRoundabout
I agree Jake Allen was an inspired signing last season and has the potential to go a lot further in the sport. He is a real racer, loves winning and hates losing. He is equally an excellent team man. Always aware of his team mates and will team rider whenever possible. His now famous third bend dive bombs will become even more popular this season with the exposure on Sky sports, as will his never say die attitude. Jake was a little guilty of over riding at the OTA last season, often pulling some over zealous shapes on the bike, which seemed to slow him down more that propel him forward. That said, this happened less and less as the season progressed. As others have predicted, I reckon he will be pushing for heat leader status by the end of the season.

Willowman
3 weeks surely? But you may just be correct. Patience Naj, patience. You see Naj, all good things come to those who wait. See here and here. Great way to kick off the season, eh?

Islander15
A bit unfair on fans of other teams to give Somerset 2 national events, don't you think.

EnglishRoundabout
What an absolute cracker of a meeting for the season opener! Well done Debbie and the promotion in getting this one. A real feather in their caps! Doyley himself will put an extra couple of hundred on the attendance and our noisy neighbours from Dorset and Wiltshire will I am sure be there in force! Wrap up warm folks as that sea breeze blows in with an Icy blast in March!
womble53
A bit unfair on fans of other teams to give Somerset 2 national events, don't you think. Think you'll find that once Rye House were unable to fit the meeting in to their fixture list, the opportunity was there for any of the other clubs to put in a bid to host it. You know the old saying, 'If you're not in it, you can't win it' Edited February 16, 2017 by womble53

Consider the Premiership pairs as Coventrys, but as we don't have a track it's at Somerset rather than Leicester. Ghosty
FAO Gary May........ With the sad demise of Coventry, might this be a gifted opportunity to strengthen-up the Rebels 2017 line-up? Gary is not one to stand back in the pursuit of trophies as we all know! as they say the early bird catches the worm.

Maybe after a few meetings if we haven't got on very well, but not before.
Fred5
Not sure what the total points tally is for the Rebels team, but perhaps there is not to much room to maneuver at present, except a "like for like " change, so probably best to see how the first few matches pan out and decide when the first set of new averages are out in mid April. Am sure your man will get it right.

Fred5
Agree, I think it could be a bit of a "bun fight" when the first set of revised averages are known in April, so hopefully all the Coventry riders, especially the English lads will get team places then.
RebelDan
I am sure someone said that once the new green sheets are released you can only build to 42 points and not 50, which wont give much room for improvement. If correct, this could make for a very long season if you initial 1-7 don't perform.

If correct, this could make for a very long season if you initial 1-7 don't perform. The room for improvement up to 42 points will come from the averages earned under a race format which does not have races that have produced false averages for some riders last year. Some teams will find their average drops.

Some teams will find their average drops. So you have to lose 8 points from your teams starting GSA , therefore to make a meaningful team change (say bring in a heat leader for a 2nd string) you need your combined team average to be around 38 points ! mmmmm we will see
