1. Holder

2. Starke

3. Wright

4. Allen

5. Tungate

6. Wilson-Dean

7. Wajtknecht

If that fits that would be a competitive side in my opinion. Retaining 6 of the team from last year (amazing in itself) and including 4 Somerset assets.

Difficult to beat at the OTA and may sneak a few points away from home.

Retaining 6 riders from the previous season when they were in a lower league - how poor is that? Edited by Steve0

I'm not trying to wind Steve0 up. I actually think its a good team.

C. Holder - Out and out No.1

P. Starke and C. Wright - Lots of top flight experience.

J. Allen and B. Wilson-Dean - Big futures and will up their averages for sure.

R. Tungate - Will hold his own imo.

Zach is the only worry in the side.

Won't get beat much at home. Appart from when Poole visit... ;)

The team total was around 47 in last years PL so using Holder at 1 in place of Josh G is the 3 point swing to the new 2017.

That is the reality of what the league is this year - just a touch above last years PL.

Generally if you replace a No7 in the new Championship with a 'top' No1 you will have a Premiership side.

But if you compared this to say the rumoured Poole team.

1. KK= slightly worse the Holder yes, but still and out and out number 1 in the league. Probs be 3rd in averages behind Doyle and Holder

2. J.Holder= u21 4th place better than Starke and Wright

3. Kurtz= See above and should have much better year.

4, Newman= If he doesn't get injured could finally make the jump to that garrity type level

5. Hans= Will have Tungate on toast, Tungate nowhere near the same level

6. Klindt= Will be top reserve in the league if he does sign for us

7. Shanes= will give his all and improve and like Kyle riding for Boyhood club so will raise his level a little bit more. But yes still a slight worry.

Good team apart from the 3 Aussies!

dont think it would be any good having zach back as he did not score that well in premier, last year, higher league would not be any better I don't think, hope I'm wrong as I like the lad.

Which just goes to show, averages are only an equaliser to a certain extent, but nothing compares with having a large budget.

Maybe so, but Allen, Wilson-Dean, Starke and Zach have bundles of improvement in them. Tungate should hold his own and should Holder arrive in Somerset, apart from being a massive crowd puller, I fancy him to put a point on his average.

What odds on Schlein? Heard no mention of him going anywhere else and I have no idea who Somerset are signing so putting 2 and 2 together?

He'd be a decent signing for sure. Puts everything into his racing. Would be an excellent captain too.

Well he is coming to Ipswich

Unless Ipswich are moving into the Premiership it's not really relevant :P

But yes, it's why I say Somerset, only other place is Leicester and they're riding Thursdays so clash with Ipswich. BV have Fricke, Cook and two Worralls. Wolves will have Masters. Wheres left?

up on the rebels site

There will be an early Christmas present for fans of the 'Cases' Somerset Rebels with the news that the full septet for the 2017 season will be announced at a social night to be held at the Oaktree on Monday 5th December.

The event will get underway at 7.30pm, entrance for which will be free of charge, and there will be a limited bar menu available for those attending who wish to purchase food on the night.

"I know a few of our fans were getting a bit impatient regarding news on the team for 2017, but we prefer to ensure that everything is definitely in place before announcing any names," said promoter Debbie Hancock.

"Now that we have reached that stage, we are pleased to be able to confirm that the names of the 7 riders will be revealed at a social event at the Oaktree on Monday 5th December."

"Past team announcement nights have always been an enjoyable occasion, with a good gathering of fans there to hear the news first-hand, so hopefully we will get a good gathering on the 5th as we start what promises to be an exciting new chapter in the history of the club.”

As they have an excellent clubhouse, why not use it & name your team in front of your fans & make some money out of the evening.
