SCB
One of the best away riders in the 2016 EL. A very good signing. A good man to have in the pits too.
Guest
RYE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE:: :::::::: THE FIRST SIGNING: NICHOLLS JOINS BMR ROCKETS FOR 2017! Multi-time British Champion Scott Nicholls has been unveiled as the first part of the BMR Rockets’ team jigsaw as a clear sign of intention for their maiden season in the Premiership. A record breaking 7-time national champion, Nicholls also spent eight consecutive seasons in the Grand Prix series, racing in a total of 82 rounds and placing second in Australia, Sweden, Italy and Slovenia. He has won silver and bronze medals representing his country in the World Cup. Scott joins the Rockets for 2017 following a 6.59 campaign with Elite League Play-Off Finalists Belle Vue that will convert into a 9.23 record in the new Premiership. Rye House Co-Promoter Steve Jenson comments, “It is an understatement to say that we are absolutely delighted to have such a high profile rider as Scott on board, and the obvious interest he showed in coming here reiterates what we are aiming to do here at Rye House. “His record speaks for itself, and he is going to bring so much to the Team, not only in his points scoring but the experience that he can pass on. We are all really looking forward to working with him.” Scott himself is of a similar opinion: “I’m really excited to be here because of the plans that Team BMR have and the outlook that they have. “It’s also good from a personal perspective to have a change of scene and new faces to work with. It helps to keep you fresh and enthusiastic. “I had three good years at Belle Vue, although I feel I will be coming into 2017 on a bit of a false average. I never really found the speed at the new National Stadium, and yet I had what I think was the fourth highest away average in the League!” Scott admits that he has only ridden the Rye House circuit once in his twenty year-plus career. “It was the Ben Fund Bonanza back in 2010. But I like the small tracks – I like them all, really - and as I say I’m really looking forward to a change of place and a new challenge.” While prohibited at this stage from revealing the names of his new team mates, Scott can confide that “It should be a team that really gels with the fans and also builds a real team spirit. There will also be a friendly competitive nature to it, because a number of us will want to be the No.1. “It’s a fantastic looking line-up, and I can’t wait till we get out on the track.”
waiheke1
Excellent signing, good value on that average and should improve on a home track to his liking. Presumably Kennett will be signed as well, if they can name one more decent hl I can imagine them having a solid side.
Aces51
An excellent signing. I am sorry he won't be at Belle Vue next year but he struggled with the bigger track and it is better for his career that he moves on. His away scores prove he can still sore plenty of points. hammer1969
Like it - can't wait to see who else we've signed. If the number 7 has to be a British rider does Robert Branford qualify as he holds a British passport ?
Aroundtheboards
Phenomenal signing !!! Well done Rye House from a Somerset Rebels supporter !
foamfence
Like it - can't wait to see who else we've signed. If the number 7 has to be a British rider does Robert Branford qualify as he holds a British passport ? As they're in the Premiership it doesn't matter who rides at 7, that is for the Championship and Rob would have too high an average for that. Ben91
Good signing. Wasn't too sharp around Belle Vue last year so his average obviously suffered a little because of that. A max at Lakeside in the play-offs showed that he can still do it on a small track. A big name signing in British Speedway terms and not one on a ridiculously high average. Starts on an average lower than Eddie and I'd expect them to be the top two. Both should hold their averages, still gives us scope to have sufficiently string reserves too. Bagpuss
Great signing for that circuit.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Top man on and off track is Scott. The sort of signing that was important for Rye to pull off to establish themselves in the top flight IMO.
Woz01
Good signing for Rye House. Scott is a small track specialist so should suit him well.
Grachan
Good to see this from Rye House. It shows intent to sign him now rather than just hanging around to see what's left.
Shadders
Good to see this from Rye House. It shows intent to sign him now rather than just hanging around to see what's left. They've learned lessons from last year it seems. I don't think they decided to race in the Premiership to finish last

phillipsr
Ed Kennett or Thomas Jorgensen. Id like both being greedy
Starman2006
Rye will suit Scott down to the ground. That must leave big questions marks on BV's participation next year. phillipsr
Rye will suit Scott down to the ground. That must leave big questions marks on BV's participation next year. Why? A track that he never went very well on, A long journey and a team that needed to cut some riders, Think your putting 2 and 2 together and getting
foamfence
Rye will suit Scott down to the ground. That must leave big questions marks on BV's participation next year. Why, he didn't take to the track and would probably have moved on anyway?
