Rye House 2017

Recommended Posts

Monday 31 July. Now 12 days since the away meeting at King's Lynn was postponed (again), not yet re-arranged. A date for one of the home meetings v Swindon has been outstanding since the start of the season. Weather forecast for Wednesday's match not looking good. The RH fixture list could get complicated...

Barker & Sedgman? Christ, wasn't really worth it. Barker a brainless nob & Sedgman a gating tart. Doesn't really do anything to improve the side. Harris & Barker being paired shows how stupid schroeck is, they both want to ride the same part of the track.

Was it worth sacking a rider who has been very loyal to the club over many years(last week not acceptable) & a young rider who the club should be wanting to use for years to come? Wells, Branford & a veteran Robbo should have been the ones at the front to be released.

Promotion have had a nightmare.

They have tried bless them, but fkd up badly. They are too naive in the goings on in the sport.

I think the changes and ridimg order fully vindicated atm nots so nieve now !

If Sedgmen was still in the team we'd not be where we are now. The point regarding Harris and Barker as a partnership is still very relevant I'd say.

Might not be relevant when next set of averages come in. Could well be Barker replacing Robbo at reserve. Can't see KK returning to reserve and not that much difference in Ben, Ricky and Stuart's average. With so many matches coming up this week anything could happen. If we don't make the play offs the above is all ilrelevant anyway.

Any one of those three at reserve is reasonable. Preferably Wells I'd say. Barker seems to have improved a little but as you say this week is the key to it actually meaning anything!

Whilst on the discussion of riders, Peterborough take on Newcastle this Wednesday and is an original fixture. Belle Vue v Rye House isn't, which implies that Steve Worrall, Chris Harris, and Stuart Robson will have to ride in the Championship meeting.

Note that Rye fans who were knocking Barker are not praising him now he is going well, we at Redcar appreciate him but please don't get him injured !! UTB

He scored nought from 4 at home the other week. Is he doing any better than is expected?

Still a nob in all honesty.

Yes they are now Kasprzak was signed. This was a comment on Barker/Segman you wally.

Still all to play for. We HAVE to match whatever Poole get at KL tonight. If we do that then we are 4 points behind, meaning if we win our two home games (easier said than done with Swindon), then Poole (I'm now sounding a bit like Kevin Keegan) HAVE to go to Somerset and get something.

I think it's highly likely they will get what's required at Somerset. Last time they only lost by 4 and that was without a number 1 (well, they had Garrity who scored zero). Poole's to lose.

I would say it's now looking like RH will miss out (narrowly) on the play-off spot. Even if that proves to be correct, I would also say that the new RH management deserve enormous credit for the efforts they have made promoting speedway at Hoddesdon this season. There aren't that many people around these days who want to devote so much time (and money!) to keeping our tracks alive. They have given it a real go this season and I hope their enthusiasm keeps up for 2018.

I would agree with that. Well done to the RH promotion (even though I want Poole to retain 4th spot).

I would expect the BSPA chairman to get the cut-off date extended to allow for the rearrangement of KL v RH. He'll do almost anything to scupper any hopes Poole may have!! ;-) ;-)

So gutted about missing the playoffs.

But I want to thank ALL the riders and officials for such a great run at the end of the season and if the core of you can stick together next year can be a very special year for Rye House.

When the disappointment disapates please remember you we tremendous and as Rye House fans we have suffered many many barren years.
