Starman2006
Oh goodness Steve. Even I have been to Rye House, twice! You didn't go when Bournemouth Buccs were there then?! Love to see Buzz's face when you tell him he's off to Rye! Last time i went to Rye was in 1978...I won't be telling buzz anything, but i certainly wouldnt want to see him back at poole again.. Massive let down. I would rather have Dak. Edited November 3, 2016 by Starman2006

MrMungo
Well it seems strange that such a tiddler of a club wants to play with the big boys. But good luck to them. I do love your way with words, Shovlar! Â Rye is a great little track, and is definitely worth a visit. It has lost some of its charm since they altered the track, but still can produce some fine racing. Hopefully they can make a good go of it since Lakeside's decision to drop down. cityrebel
Both the track and the stadium have lost some of their charm. Both will need to be improved for next season.
Bagpuss
Well it seems strange that such a tiddler of a club wants to play with the big boys. But good luck to them. Â Kennett is nailed on. I knew that weeks ago. Â Wonder what night they are going to race on? A track I have strangely never been to. That will change in 2017. Think yourself lucky you never went during the era of the first bend adverse camber.....

Trees
Think yourself lucky you never went during the era of the first bend adverse camber.....Dunno if it was that, the 3rd/4th bend camber or the joke of grading the track with absolutely nothing on it grrrrr

I bumped into Kennett a couple of weeks ago at brands hatch and he told me he had no plans for next season yet apart from getting some new grasstrack engines, he must have been telling me lies. Anzum
Lakeside was only Elite League track I hadn't visited so will be now be at Rye House for at least one of the Swindon visits next year. Looking at some of the videos on the Bspa website this year from there, the racing can be good.

I expect Steve got told by someone rather than actually speaking to him. Â It's amazing he never said something before today because he doesn't usually keep a secret too long😀😀

It's amazing he never said something before today because he doesn't usually keep a secret too long I know an awful lot of things but if its told in confidence it stays there. I did mention Kennett to Rye weeks ago on one of the threads. Wasn't told in confidence just in passing.  Here it is. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=82888&page=2&do=findComment&comment=2865598 Edited November 3, 2016 by Steve Shovlar

Rayleigh
WARNING TO THE RYE TEAM PLANNERS Â Last year top and second string Elite riders both had false averages. The reason being the race format if you were a heat leader you faced fellow heat leaders nearly all evening, if you were a second string you faced second string or reserves nearly all evening. The net result through up these examples: Â Matej Zagar8.06 Hans Andersen WARNING TO THE RYE HOUSE TEAM PLANNERS Â Last year top and second string Elite riders both had false averages. The reason being the race format was if you were a heat leader you faced fellow heat leaders nearly all evening, if you were a second string you faced second string or reserves nearly all evening. The net result are some strange averages such as these examples: Â Matej Zagar 8.06 Hans Andersen 8.04 Chris Harris 7.77 Patrick Hougaard 6.44 -------- 30.31 Â Sam Masters 7.76 Kyle Newman 7.51 Steve Worrall 7.11 Adam Ellis 6.93 -------- 29.31 Â Now remember the race format is changing as I understand to the Premier League format, in short an easier race card for heat leaders (thus undervalued average) and a tougher race card for second strings (thus overvalued average) Â So the question is, are the two teams above similar in strength or not? Trees
But any riders who also rode in the PL will use their PL averages in SGBPREM (what a mouthful!) ....

Those averages aren't right for a start, EL only averages are x1.4.  Zagar 10.48 Andersen 10.01 Harris 10.11 Hougaard 8.71 Total: 39.31  And riders with a PL average use their PL average:  Masters 8.88 Newman 6.31 S. Worrall 8.51 Ellis 7.84 (EL conversion, no PL ave in 2016) Total: 31.54  For Ellis' sake I hope he is given a more realistic average as he is currently saddled with a high average due to not riding PL in 2016 and the race format formerly used in the EL. Those figures could change slightly when the final green sheets are released also. Edited November 4, 2016 by Ben91
