Pogo1
The Ben fund meeting always runs before the season officially starts, the date has nothing to do with Glasgow, it's done in the hope to attract the top riders, fingers crossed we see some genuine top stars north of the border and hopefully some decent weather. allthegearbutnaeidea
On 12 March they are more than pushing their luck with the weather. Do we ever learn? A rain off is disastrous in trying to re-schedule. A meeting which is weather affected but run just to get it on loses the goodwill of the paying punter who wont re-attend in future. Surely an early April date could increase the likelihood of fairer weather and be more suitable. It's the season opener Edited December 21, 2016 by allthegearbutnaeidea
Joseq7
just looking at who has their prices up for next year and must admit yours is a bit steep about £25/26 for admission seat parking and programme good job 1,m a southern softy I won't repeat the "optional extras" bit. For those who buy a Season Ticket it works out at £11.84 per meeting.

Maybe the Glasgow promotion have invested in track covers in case of a bad weather forecast. Or What would be far better for the sport in my opinion the new Berwick promotion have said you can borrow ours if it means the meeting going ahead
MANSE
It was a lovely dry day in Glasgow on Sunday 13/3/2016 you never know what to expect
Normski
It's the season opener Like it was in 2013 at Berwick when the BSPA allowed a testimonial meeting to be run on the Friday night before and the Sunday after with the big names deciding they were more important than a meeting that raises fund's to look after injured riders.

damosuzuki
Track grading is not just track grading at weegieville. It's another dimension. Exactlly, plus it'll be on the big screen this year.
Paulco
Hope we get lucky weatherwise for the Benfund . Been to three of those , Scunthorpe 2011 it was dry and cold , Birmingham 2012 we were sitting in a beer garden wearing t-shirts , it was roasting . Berwick 2013 , oh my god there were polar bears roaming around the back straight terrace . So as long as dry is in the description.

Owenbros
Glasgow really need to improve the standing area on the back straight. If each of the standing areas could be stepped further then there would be better viewing but as it is just now there will be limitations as to how many spectators can be accomodated

You get a great view from the back straight, but unless you grab a place at the front early, your view is greatly diminished by the folk standing in front,

GlasgowGuy
Good suggestion. You get a great view from the back straight, but unless you grab a place at the front early, your view is greatly diminished by the folk standing in front, Don't disagree that additional tiering on the back straight would make viewing from that area much better, but I'd hope you'd accept that it (the back straight area) STILL provides much, much better viewing than is available at most other tracks! Lest we forget the non-proximate and sub circuit viewing at other venues
tyretrax
I don't really care about the view at other tracks, mainly because I don't visit them, but I think the viewing at Ashfield should have been addressed before a big screen was installed.
