Glasgow 2017

Scunny won't be bothering the bottom next year. Neither will Glasgow. But am I right in thinking the playoffs are going to Be EL style top 4? and the winner gets another play off meeting against the premier bottom team? With the points limit I think this will be a tighter league with a lot of competition for the four places.

Any spell at reserve for Dan would be short lived. With Lunna and Bewley we would be looking at potentially five riders battling for the heat leader positions.

In order for that to happen Lunna and Bewley would need to be touching 8.00 averages, that’s an absurdly massive ask of either next season.

Perhaps I should rephrase 5 riders worthy of heat leader positions in the current league. Of the full teams announced Scunthorpe Third Heat Leader MPT 6.98, Berwick Berge 6.91. Both Bewley and Lunna are capable of achieving around 7.00 I think.

putting too much hope on bewley already IMO.

If bewley can put a couple of points on his average he will be doing well. He probably won't be starting at reserve so won't have the luxury of 6-7 rides.

The league is going to be watered down yes, but it feels like some Glasgow fans possibly underestimate Berge in particular as a result of circumstance rather than assessing him based on actual talent. He (Berge) qualified for the Under 21 World Championship, where he finished 4th with a comparable points total to Jack Holder (now in the Poole side) and scored MORE points than the likes of Adam Ellis and Erik Riss, both of whom are really talented young riders – and in Riss a rider not yet capable of racing to a 7.00 average in the PL – it does that afford a water mark of the talent required to hit 7.00 in even this league, it is not an easy average to reach.

I think it is widely accepted Bewley is a talent, a rider going places, but there should be a far fairer sense of where he is going to end next season.

If and as long as our three heat leaders get around or above 10pts each, Lunna and Bewley would only need to get 10-12 pts between. With reserves needing around 6 as well.

People are speculating on next season as you are nobody really knows how he will fair next season but i agree that he is a talent who knows he may just go on to be a 4th heat leader but i am just speculating.

You must be having a laugh, maybe 5.50 for Lunna and 6.50 maximum from Bewley after having a serious injury so early on in his career with not having rode a lot of speedway at all

1. Aaron Summers

2. Dan Bewley

3. Richie Worrall

4. Nike Lunna

5. Richard Lawson

6. ?

7. Jack Smith

Maybe Bacon at No. 6, or Tom Perry? Who Knows

The Other way it could go is having Rob Branford instead of Nike and Arthur Sissis in the main body to keep Mr Bewley at reserve

1. Summers

2. Sissis

3. Worrall

4. Branford

5. Lawson

6. Bewley

7. Smith or Bacon ...

All fair and relevant points, Glasgow fans are very aware of Berges' strengths and weaknesses. Sticking to my guns about Nike and Dan.
