Little Thumper
Buxton Hitmen rider Ryan Blacklock has announced his retirement. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.31514 Yes, Ryan was very emotional on Sunday when he announced that he had ridden his last race. ....but sometimes over those long winter months, the telephone rings and a rider receives an offer that is just tempting enough to convince them that perhaps they could squeeze in just one more season. You don't believe that a rider has retired until you discover that he has sold all his bikes and equipment and has been spotted playing golf. Ommer Mon
I've really enjoyed watching Ryan race over the last few seasons. He was never going to be a world beater but you could always rely on him for 100% effort and at times he overdid it but always got up to have another go. Riders like him are the life blood of National league racing in this country - a great entertainer. Quite a hole for Buxton to fill next season. My best wishes for whatever he chooses to do next.

Lewis Bridger does that almost every year and I am still waiting for the 'Martin Dugard returns' rumour on a bargain average for our play off meeting with Birmingham tomorrow. Good luck for the future Ryan.
