Comment regarding the away NL match at Coventry on Monday, October 31, as per a Rye House Press Release: "With the cancellation of the National League Pairs at King’s Lynn following two rain-offs of the event, the Raiders have one outstanding fixture which is away to Coventry, although the October 31st deadline for this staging is now looming.

"Regardless of the outcome, the Raiders are destined to finish ninth out of twelve clubs in the final League table."

COVENTRY can regrettably confirm they are unable to stage the final two fixtures of the National League season.

The matches against Stoke and Rye House will not take place due to stadium availability issues.

Planning for 2017 will commence with the BSPA AGM taking place next week, November 1-3, and further news is expected shortly after that conference.

What is the penalty for bringing the sport into disrepute?

Or is the sport in so much disrepute already that a bit more is hardly worth bothering about.

I look forward to reading on the BSPA website what action they intend to take.

Perfect summary Little Thumper - seems the precedent was set by agreeing not to stage the Leicester v King's Lynn fixture. Coventry & Stoke would probably be making losses from holding their last meetings & are merely following suit

So, where you are going wrong, my friends is that you are assuming that a fixture list is a statement of fact.

In reality it is nothing of the sort and is merely a list of events that may or may not happen depending on whether one promoter or another can be bothered to put them on, whether the riders have stomped off because they are fed-up with not being paid and whether there is a tad too much damp in the air.

I'm sure that this will be clarified at some AGM or other and then you bunch of ungrateful, moaning plebs will know exactly what's what.

Matter closed.

When compiling the fixture list, any sensible promoter should now try and put any potential loss making fixtures at the end of the season since there's no need to run them

Hope not, think Buster might be more radical, certainly needs to be. Problem is all promoters need to be in agreement

Will Buster be leading by example and make sure the King's Lynn v Eastbourne fixture does not get overlooked and is completed by 31 October?

Or will we find out in a few days 1) the Stadium was unavailable (apologies to Mick Horton for re-using his excuse) and 2) lack of rider availability (mostly due to Eastbourne riding/ partying every night for the past 3 weeks)?

why don't all the leagues go back to the concept of a 'conference' to decide the top 4 (or 6!), rather than committing to a full set of league fixtures at all?....so at a cut-off date whichever clubs have the best win % go into play-offs...When 2 out of the leagues are incomplete why con us anymore into thinking league fixtures are worth staging paying for?... in this way a club can get to the play-offs without having to stage too many of those annoying qualifying matches..

Well, Mike, that is a very fine idea but I have a slightly better one.

Why don't clubs do what they say they are going to, allow the time and resource to do it and if they don't do it, they get kicked hard in the goolies by the person who is there to make sure they do it.

All seems quite straight forward to me.

Make it so.
