With only 10 Championship sides, the biggest downside to me, looks like there'll be a lot of riders without a spot in that league

But two more Prem teams so thats 14 extra places to fill. We'll lose some GP riders because of the averages x 1.4 and because others can only do 3 leagues.

I feel sorry for Danish riders like Anderson and Iversen who have always supported GB racing and always turn up to do there best. They may not be able to ride here because of a stupid Polish rule which must be some kind of restraint of trade. They will have to decide between Sweden and GB.

Talking about the new GTR engine do they mean it will be an option or that it will be compulsory? If it becomes compulsory it will increase costs for many teams when riders insist on being given more engines (Some will say they even need more mechanics that specialise in the GTR engines) just for use in the UK where many lower riders use the same engines across the countries.

The last time promotion/relegation was in place it was also compulsory participation but most teams knew it would not involve them and the rest knew they would win or lose before the play-off matches took place. There is no reason to believe it will be any different in 2017.

The average system is too complicated. What happens if a rider starts solely in the 2nd division only and achieves an average in that league would that average take priority over a 1st division average that was earned anything up to five years ago and would they then come back into the 1st division with their second division average being reduced by 1.4?

Obviously no average will be higher than 12 as that is the highest possible average; too many decades have gone since the early years and averages based solely on the match average which took no account of the number of rides taken: So if you had seven rides and scored twenty-one points that would be the match average.

Overall decent AGM. I'd say. They're looking to phase out double uppers over the course of time according to Twitter. Not all things addressed regarding race nights etc but better than previous years I'd say.

Just the NL AGM to go now, a league which is sustainable and going from strength to strength.

Doing away with doubling up will only increase the gap between the two divisions and that counter to what the BSPA want to achieve, thus I cannot see that happening.

Still lots, of 'ifs, buts and maybes' but good to see some kind of plan..

The name changes of the League will be recognised by Football fans for example and make some kind of sense..

Clearly the issue will be to fit in the big names given their averages will be high. However better to do that than ban them completely from a legal perspective possibly..?

The aim does look like longer term to get somewhere like a current PL team across the 'Premiership' with maybe one more heat leader level rider and one less second string than currently ride PL now. (With the biggest earners possibly conspicuous by their absence)..

One glaring issue with regards to the sports integrity is having the same rider doubling up for both the top Championship team and the bottom Premiership team.

Surely therefore you cannot have relegation and promotion (laudable aim that it is), until that is sorted as its another self inflicted 'Mickey Mouse' scenario waiting to be ridiculed come the inevitable time..

For me, not enough has come out re losing guest riders through a better fit for purpose RR facility and how the MC will ensure meetings don't become select meetings thru poor (or devious) planning of meetings on FIM nights. Two major issues which impact attendances very adversely I would say...

And I still cannot see why when we end up sharing riders we still keep seven man teams...

Still, Buster and Rob G look like they are starting to turn the oil tanker round slowly which is a start...

Best of luck in moving the sport forwards..

I'm a Swindon Fan & I think it should have been higher!!!! 55 may have suited all with the conversion

There is definitely a bit of ambiguity on this 1.4, it would be a good idea if the BSPA could post a list of confirmed averages for all riders at the new calculation which can then be used to get to the 40 or 50 point limit, as many fans like to guess who can be fitted in to their team .

Usual mixed bag from an AGM with some encouraging stuff and some same old, difficult to judge until we see things in action though. As has been alluded to the biggest problem has been guests and R/R as a result of doubling up clashes, hopefully there are plans to sort that out.

There should have been only one KO cup, one legged ties with the Championship side hosting if they are drawn against a Premiership side. If two sides from the same league were drawn together the first out of the hat hosts.

Why? The KO Cup would still be over two legs even if both divisions were included. There is no way that a single KO Cup will happen for a several reasons, one of which is league standard differentials and another is doubling up. It is only a short time ago that a single league cup was in place and it was utter shambles with most teams having to use several guests due to the said problems.

Why would it have to be over two legs? The lower tier side hosting is something of a leveller in terms of playing field. Let's remember that there's only 10 points difference in team building too, and averages for both leagues are taken from PL averages. The only stumbling block I can see is the doubling up issue, hopefully in the coming years that will be eradicated and we can have a cup competition where teams from different leagues can face each other. If done properly it isn't a shambles, far from it, it's a money maker. Look at the FA cup in football. 2003 isn't a short time ago either and back then the difference in standard between the EL and PL was actually noticeable.

Looking at some of the conversion figures for the Premiership, it looks almost certain that the standard of rider will drop. Add the lower points limit in the Championship, & the promoters have dropped the standard there as well. With most clubs looking to charge the same, or more next year, the supporters lose out again.

I don't believe that promotion/ Relegation will work .

The problem that makes us look a joke are

GUESTS

DOUBLE UPS

Until these are addressed we cannot go forward , Back 13 Heats with second half where youngsters can get a chance to ride against team members.

If you have injuries tough, there are then more chances for youngsters.

So, after a few teams struggled (and in a few cases failed) to get in 24 League matches in to what was the Premier League, before the cut-of date for the Play-offs, they are hoping to fit in 36 matches in 2017.

They've changed the name of the top two divisions (we await what the NL will be called).

Everyone will have one average (but haven't explained, once the season starts how the averages will be worked out, presumably this will follow).

They've brought back promotion/relegation (that didn't work the last they tried it).

And that's 'a major revamp.'

I'm sure (as always) more will follow, but I don't see how that is all going to get the fans flooding (back) through the turnstiles.
