Tero had better bring his wellies if the weather forecast is correct, if it is, what would be the date for re-arranged fixture?

Again, MetOffice site says it's fine:

Sorry, Steve, Accu weather and BBC both disagree, (but I do hope they're wrong)

BBC Weather says showers between 10 & 4 pm. I wouldn't get overly worried by that to be honest.

Had it not been for Aaron Summers' t/r down there , the two league matches would have finished level on aggregate . However we had Barker riding a lawn mower at that stage of the season , and Rene Bach on his old stomping ground should be a big plus for us . But apart from that heat 15 blip against Sheffield , the Diamonds have grown in stature over the season . So this should be a cup final too close to call with any confidence .

Though for us Tigers fans , any Glasgow v Newcastle cup ties always has us thinking back to 1991 and that semi final second leg at Brough and Brian Nixon's heroics :drink:

Don't forget Newcastle were without Lambert & Rose for the league match at Brough. Fisher & Sisis weren't great replacements so I expect us to be stronger opposition this time.

Glasgow have a few riders who can score anything from 15 to 5 here. Richie, Lawson, Summers and Rene all come into that category. Track tends to be very slick this time of year so gating will be crucial.

Hope Garcia is ok but if he is out for the weekend which sounds likely, this could be a whole lot harder for the Diamonds. Safe to assume Sissis will be the guest which if he repeats his performance tonight could be a big problem for the Diamonds in the second leg......

Garcia has been out of sorts for weeks after a horror run of crashes. Knackered equipment and fitness doesn't look great. Sissis would be the obvious choice if a replacement is needed.

Posted on the Glasgow Sheffield thread that Garcia dislocated his knee last night so you would think he will be doubtful for both meetings with the Diamonds.

I'm dreading this now we seem to be intent on ruining our season when it matters most.

Hate to say this but Newcastle will win this over 2 legs easily we are a pale shadow off the team we once were not too long ago.

We were starting to slide but the previous home defeat to Somerset when we tried to manipulate the track has shattered us. Self destruction! We were immense at Sheffield IMO to keep it close in the first leg and should have finished it off at home but the confidence in the lower order isnt there.

Best wishes to Sheffield.

Sorry to hear. Dislocations often involve ligament damage and possibly requiring surgery to correct in the long term. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Sorry but I disagree. We've been beaten by two teams that have had reserves scoring a phenomenal number of points. How many matches this season, in all leagues) has a reserve scored 14 points (Sissis) and 16 points (bates for Somerset). These things simply do not happen often and unfortunately we have been on the other end of it.

Everyone has a bad night but things are being blown way out of proportion by a lot of people.
