Newcastle V Glasgow Kocup Final 1st Leg Sunday 23rd October 2016

Recommended Posts

There is little else happening so I am starting a thread for the first leg of the Premier League Knock Out Cup of 2016. Glasgow are favourites for the KO Cup and are involved in the league play offs too.

Newcastle are the underdogs going into the KO Cup final

Newcastle

Robert Lambert

Victor Palovaara

Matej Kus

Ludvig Lindgren

Steve Worrall

Ashley Morris

Danny Philips

Glasgow

Richie Worrall
Nike Lunna
Aaron Summers
Rene Bach
Richard Lawson
Fernando Garcia
Danny Ayres

Mr and Mrs Worrall will be please to see their twins lining up as heatleaders in this cup final. Newcastle favourite Rene Bach along with Richie Worrall is likely to cause the Diamonds a few problems.
As a supporter of Newcastle Diamonds I think we will win the cup tie by just a couple of points maybe by winning by 12 points at home and losing by 10 at Glasgow!

I would disagree with that, I'd say Newcastle are narrow favourites, although I think it will be very close.

As long as it's not a draw on aggregate, because the cup has a full replay rather than golden heats, and not sure if there's enough time before the end of October for that. (EDIT: Just checked, and it is golden heats, not a replay. Phew!!)

All the best

Rob

Newcatle were my favourites (other than Glasgow) at the start of the season. For me this is about the Heat leaders. We did well enough in Newcastle during the season, but the track was a mess that night and I'd be delighted if we kept this to 10 in Newcastle tbh.

Had it not been for Aaron Summers' t/r down there , the two league matches would have finished level on aggregate . However we had Barker riding a lawn mower at that stage of the season , and Rene Bach on his old stomping ground should be a big plus for us . But apart from that heat 15 blip against Sheffield , the Diamonds have grown in stature over the season . So this should be a cup final too close to call with any confidence .

Though for us Tigers fans , any Glasgow v Newcastle cup ties always has us thinking back to 1991 and that semi final second leg at Brough and Brian Nixon's heroics :drink:

I have never forgot him beating David Bargh in heat 4 either

Glasgow just become hot favourites - drafed in Ricky Wells, Lewis Kerr & Rob Branford for the Newcastle leg :o

:D

Instead of Lunna, Garcia and Ayres? :P

Must be nice when you can bring in track specialists when you need ;) Must be the tiger way

And the point of posting at all was .......

Just trying to bring a bit of fun and frivolity to lighten our lives as the summer turns to autumn and the days shorten and winter draws close

I do apologise if this caused anyone unnecessary stress and anxiety................................... actually no I don't apologise - lighten up and chill out :D
