Little Thumper
Well, I shall not be going to this as it seems a bit of a pointless contest between two teams who are highly reliant on hired hands and our old friend Rider Replacement. But the interesting news in the Jason Pipe monologue on the Buxton website is that he is looking around for a new challenge in 2017 and would be particularly interested in managing a Saturday night track. So, any bets on where he might appear next year? Perhaps, a track a little further south where the weather is a tad warmer and the clientèle a little more mature and gentile might be just the ticket. Wishing the riders at tonight's meeting a safe and pleasurable experience and hoping that the lights stay on for you. Be careful out there. Alex2000
Eastbourne. Managed us several times this season and wanted to come down and manage our clash with Birmingham.... although I don't think Connor would be to pleased if he was replaced. What about Coventry?? Golly gosh.........now there's a thought. I notice that Joe Lawlor is having another outing for Buxton tonight. Like last week, he doesn't seem to be classified as a "Guest". His picture is still on the Belle Vue Colts website so one would assume that he is still attached to them in some way. Or perhaps he is just riding for whoever he so chooses? Perhaps it is just an oversight and with him riding so much for Buxton, they have taken him into their flock to protect him from the circling wolves.

Lawlor has agreed to ride for Buxton for the rest of the season as an unattached 3.00 rider, which makes him eligible to ride for other clubs too in the same regard (Cradley for example). But his photo will still be on the BV website because you can be sure that he will be in the BV management's plans with the improvement he's made over the last month or so. teaboy279
Well, I'm sure it makes sense to somebody! Tbf Matt has explained it perfectly. To be a guest you must be declared in another teams 1-7, other then rr the only other option is to use a 3.0 unattached rider.

Excuse me appearing a little dumb here but I thought Mr Lawlor was "attached" to Belle Vue in as much as he has ridden for them all season, appears in their team photo gallery and it would seem reasonable to assume that he would be riding for them again in 2017. So, at what stage did he become "unattached" and how do you unattach yourself from a club. I am sure I will get my head round this at some stage! Thank you for your patience. teaboy279
http://www.speedwaygb.co/nlteamissues16 If you click the most current team declarations at the bottom of the list, this is the current declarations and rider averages. Any rider who is not in a sides 2-7 is officially classed as unattached. Hope that helps a bit.

Little Thumper
Stoke 55 Buxton 35. Sadly, yet another disappointing defeat for the Buxton Hitmen. I am sure Buxton will be glad when this sorry season has reached it's conclusion and they can consider their options for 2017.
mikec
Don't think young Joe will be short on offers for a NL spot in 2017. He dropped out of the Colts mid season, think he was having mechanical issues affecting his confidence. Clearly he has ability, though if you watch his mannerisms he seems a kid who's quite hard on himself. Wherever he races in 2017 he'll do a good job.

Little Thumper
Clearly, the match report on the Buxton website has been written by someone other than Jason Pipe, as the author uses paragraphs and there is no job application contained therein. It would be nice when something appears on any club website if the author would be kind enough to put their initials at the bottom. Even the author finds it difficult to say anything positive about Buxton's poor performance. It would be helpful to know how Shelby Rutherford is getting on, as I am sure that Buxton supporters would be hopeful that he would be fit enough to ride next Sunday, as I am sure that they would wish to show their appreciation for all his efforts this year. Efforts which have not necessarily received their fair reward. Be seeing you.
Little Thumper
Well, I have it on good authority that Shelby Rutherford will be trying to race next weekend. You have to admire these speedway riders. They get hurt and all they want to do is get back on their bikes and give it LARGE! I shall do my utmost to get up into the hills next weekend and give the Hitmen some support. They might not have won much this year but the riders have given it their best shot and I am sure they must get a bit dispirited when they experience defeat after defeat. So, Shelby Rutherford, Lee Geary and Lee Dicken thanks for hanging on in there and lets finish the season on a high and give our friends from Rye House a bit of a lesson in the finer arts of speedway riding. Make it so.
