Ipswich 2017

I quite like his quirky offbeat style with articles like this. Its a good attention grabber which can never be a bad thing can it.

And we know that there will be the serious well balanced normal coverage from him when the time comes too.

Agree and he used to do a "Bacon's blog" which was quite amusing too.

Met him a few times at Foxhall and he's a smashing bloke.

As Danyon Hume rode 3 home & 3 away matches for Ipswich last year, will he get a new average after 1 home & 1 away this year?

no - 2016 meetings will not be included in rolling averages for 2017.

All riders will get a new figure after 4 home 4 away...

I didn't know that.

I didn't know that.

Thats how it came across to me when reading about how rolling averages will be calculated.

It is certainly the case in the top league. There was no caveat to state that didnt also apply to the new Championship.

Just checked back on Rolling Averages thread in general section. Posts in last week of November.

Gambo (of Kandysoft who provide the framework for BSPA figures I believe) outlined that.

A few posts on also says that it will not be just the last 20 used but will eventually use all qualifying meetings from the year.

Has the track been reshaped as suggested by Chris Louis during the winter ?

It certainly has, I believe that the bends have been opened up a bit to give more lines for overtaking possibilities. Whether any changes will be obvious I've no idea.

Apparently minor changes to the banking may have also been made but they are very limited as to what can be done in that department because of the stock car track on the outside.

We will see at the first meeting, well some of you will as certain members of my family have planned a major dual birthday/anniversary party on the 25th of March.

wow , must be 2 great reasons to miss the next two meets . is it a few pints with the lads or the next door neighbors cat having kittens .? still to attend on your wedding anniversary when you should be wining and dining your better half .. you got one understanding spouse there . admiring you, your missus way of thinking . unless she tags along with you . well done that man , (and woman ) jelous as @@@@.

My missus has only ever been to 1 meeting jenga and that was very early in our relationship. 👫💕

I suggested a few days away and said Id heard it was nice down in Poole.🌞

Booked a little B&B drove down and unpacked and then surprised her with the fact that the Witches were there too - what a shocker 😲

Backfired a bit though when we lost heavily 64-26 or similar! 😢

She still thought I was worth it though - whats is for 22 years?? ☺

Nothing wrong with the optimism i can see us challenging.

You know what you will get with King and Covatti and Heeps and there is room for Hume to kick on.

Schlein and Mountain will have to show they have got over their big injuries.

Newman has been talked up every season as 'potential'. He now needs to start showing that and no way will he get near Number One lol.

I think we will be there or thereabouts, certainly play offs. Much will depend on Schlein and Newman for me

Ever since the Witches dropped out of the Elite they have looked to be potential Champions but as yet have never delivered, will 2017 be the year?

Looking around at other threads and teams websites welcoming British semi finals and 4's and other events I'm beginning to wonder why we never get anything.

Is it the traditionally poor race track, the location of Ipswich or even the constraints of the amount of meetings we're allowed to run due to stock cars?

One things for sure though it's not the facilities as Foxhall can hold 10 thousand people, it hosts stock car world championships so has the infrastructure to cater for large amounts of punters.

Do we just not want anything big or are we being turned down by the speedway big wigs?
