Pleased to hear him say all the right things. I like him after seeing him in BYC training, and could easily have joined Newcastle with knowing Lewis. Will watch his progress and wish him well.

All this track changing over the last 7 years, I ask is it really necessary? Tell me what was wrong from 1969 - 2010 a time of 41 years mostly under John Berry with fantastic teams in the Top League. The

racing was very exciting with the likes of Cookie, Siggy, John Louis and Tony Rickardsson coming from behind with no trouble at all on numerous occasions. If we only had top class riders in the now Premier

League the racing would still be very exciting. Its the quality of riders that make it boring not the track.

To be fair most of the regulars around the area I sit have been saying for some time that passing doesn't happen much unless it's someone who's very fast that's been outgated.

Nico has struggled badly to pass slower riders because the lines just aren't there.

Even Danny has had problems when he's had a bad gate so I think any work that's being done to improve the racing is admirable and necessary.

When Nygren and Levai rode together, they used to ride many lines in one race, it was more like criss cross :D These days its normally one fast line, maybe two on a decent strip and mistakes account for most passes. Bikes are now so much quicker and I welcome the changes at Foxhall...

The old track was too narrow.

Bit of a mystery why the new shape hasn't provided decent racing, I have been once since the change which was an EL meeting in 2010 and it was pretty good. Perhaps the change of league has had something to do with it.

Got to agree there looks very little wrong with the track shape which should in theory produce decent racing. A quick look on google earth proves this. Perhaps it's other factors such as the type of shale used? Also agree that the old track was too narrow. Far too narrow in fact.

Was maybe okay back in the day but as has already been said, the machines have evolved over the years and the introduction of the air fence made an already narrow track even narrower.
