ha ha ha, now you have taken it to far lol. I'm actually gonna miss, morten, but it's better for bob, he can leave the inside now.

Baldy from what I've read from you on here over the years you'd be trying to pull an imaginary hair out watching Klindt every week ;)

You may be right. Its a good team next year and I really do fancy our chances if everything goes to plan

all this talk about weak reserves and the risk of going with two 2 pointers, well newcastle have just announced their full team too with two 2 pointers at reserve... connor coles and danny phillips.... think we got the better two in hume and mountain by a long way!! will have to wait and see how other teams line up and how strong the reserves are but i can't see where anyone else is going to get a stronger pair both on 2.00 averages

Shows you how good paco is!

you guys joke but someone told me this week they understand paco is going to be lining up for premiership team this year :o

if this is true someone must've seen something somewhere but it definitely wasn't round foxhall!!

Poor old Gav has to support a Pirate. Although i don't think it will worry him to much he only goes once a year.

IMO Bates is an awful signing for Sheffield purely for the fact we know he doesn't want to be there! Really don't understand the benefit of going to the local press and stating that you wanted away but were eventually persuaded to stay on on the promise he can jump ship the following year. Why go public wth that? He's been naive there.

He's also opened himself up to criticism next season when he's going through a tough period and struggling for points (and it will happen). You can guarantee that as soon as that happens you'll see comments on here that "he's not even trying" and "he clearly doesn't want to be here".

What should have happened IMO, is as soon as the lad had said he wanted a move they should have made him available and wrote him out of their plans and filled the void with a rider that wanted to wear a Tigers race jacket.

You have to also factor in the perverse way our sport works. Bates doesn't want to have the season of his life and be in a position in 12 months time that he's unemployable to another club because he's not on an attractive average. Just ask Joe Jacobs at the moment!

I'll have a little friendly wager with you that Cameron Heeps will add more to his starting average next year than Bates will at Sheffield..

If you read my post I said that Heeps was one of the likely average increases in the Witches side. But why not.

For the record I think going with x2 2.00 men is risky but both Hume and Mountain are better than anything Newcastle are putting out at reserve.

I never joked about Paco.

Great guy and I wish him all the best.

Looks a decent side, King will do very well again. Schlein should maintain his average at least but could make a mockery of it. Covatti should be maintaining his average too. Newman should be expected to improve in 2017, if he can't do that in a weaker league riding lower down the order than he was at Plymouth then he's reached his level. Heeps was pretty much Rye House's third heatleader last season, a year away will have benefitted him I'd imagine, he'll put his starting figure up as fifth averaged rider. I'd have had him back at Rye if we were in the second tier still. Two two-pointers could be seen as a gamble but most sides will be lining up with one at least and Hume and Mountain are as good as, if not better than the others declared so far.

The Witches will be there or there abouts barring injuries IMO.

I think that looks like a decent team in the context of the points limit available, however I have written that more than once over the past few years.

If Rory can stay fit then there has to be a 1 - 1/2 point uplift there. Danny should clean up and hopefully the proposed track changes will suit Nico's around the boards style. I am not quite sure about Kyle as he has never quite reached his potential in the second tier, however I am not unduly concerned about the reserves as there will be a number of a similar standard across the teams and I think we have two of the better ones.

Time will tell, so roll on March so we can start to see if expectations will be met this season.

Not a bad looking team, think Chris has done well bearing in mind the points limit.

I've just got to remember to try not to panic Rory's mum (or Sandie, or ML) whilst texting, think that makes me more nervous than anything else!

Ah bless you thanks for your words.

I will support any rider who puts on a Witches race jacket and gives 100%

Unlike yourself i have a life.

This means i have to work and have a family.

I live an hour from the track and finish work around 6.30pm, hopefully you can work those maths out.

Therefore i pick my meetings and last year i went to 5, Newcastle, Sheffield, Glasgow and Somerset twice. No disrespect but im not going to rush around and watch us versus Redcar or Plymouth.

I know your job is seasonal selling comics between March and October and therefore you sponge your way in to meetings for free before sloping off home for your takeaway for one.

Funnily enough we have lives too, and I bet put in more working hours than anyone...but real supporters don't pick and choose matches they try and support their team at all of them. Win, lose or draw the real supporters are there ...discuss

Whats your point?

I get in from work at roughly 7pm most nights and Foxhall is an hour away.

I have 2 young children , one of whom does drama classes and the other does roller skating

These take up my time and my money and are far more important to me then making sure i go to Speedway every week and spend £60 odd for the privilege.

And i go win lose or draw, i pick the meetings that i think will be close and good racing not the ones that Ipswich should 'definately' win.

My children and seeing them and supporting them in the things they do are far more important to me then going to speedway.........discuss

Sorry??

Ive been watching speedway for 35 years and wether i go or not i still see the results, i still see the performances of our riders.

What i cant always see from not going every week is wether the effort is there.

I can pass judgement on wether i think our team is good or bad and as ive said it looks a decent side this year.

My life isnt all about speedway. Betwen the ages of 10 and 18 i would go Ipswich Thursday, Hackney Friday, Arena Saturday and Rye House on a Sunday, funnily enough my life has changed now somewhat.

I didnt realise i had to go to every meeting to have an opinion
