Big Al
Fosse Park is my nearest and I can't say I've ever seen one there so I won't bother joining the queue. Strangely enough our corner shop had a copy a few weeks ago ~ just the one. I knew I should have bought it to give him a bit of encouragement as he hasn't stocked any since. Are you sure he doesn't keep it on the "top shelf"?
Gemini
where does that new bridge across the M1 near the services go to ? What new bridge? Actually I might know this as I think there has been a massive housing estate built/being built on Lubbersthorpe Road and it goes there and presumably is also their access to the M1. Big Al.........Are you sure he doesn't keep it on the "top shelf"? I always try to avert my eyes from even a quick glance of looking up there. Dickie Head
Riders spend so much time fiddling about at the starting gate these days, I'm surprised speedway doesn't have a regular column in Gardners Weekly - a real top shelf publication if ever there was one!
robert72
Mr Darcy says that DH should of gone two years ago and that he has really damaged Leicester Lions speedway. I think it went down hill fast because DH refused to see urgent track changes after the first season were needed and then instead of establishing the club in the premier league and gaining assets for the future he just jumped into the Elite league and was out of his and the clubs depths which saw them sinking quickly. I don't think sky were fair with Leicester. Edited January 12, 2017 by robert72

IT's not an access to the MI .it goes over just after you join from the M69 , I would guess one end is in Thorpe Astley

SteveLyric2
Some good stuff from Dave Darcy in the Star this week. He doesn't hold back on Hemsley or the non-possibility of Coventry sharing!! NB in a seperate interview, Justin Sedgman says that no deal has been done with anyone for 2017. He will be over in the UK straight after the Aussie Final to try to sort his visa out!!
stevebrum
I understand some find having a go at DH easy but without him there would be no speedway in Leicester to talk about. Small memories and all that.
SteveLyric2
The article acknowledges DH's efforts in resurrecting the sport but also blames him for Leicester's slide in the past 3 years or so - by refusing to listen to fans!! Happy Hunter
I'm sure some kind soul will post a synopsis of what Dave Darcy has to say. I would offer but I can't guarantee that the postperson will deliver my copy before you are all in bed! I was right not to volunteer! The postperson arrived at 16.50 but without the Star. So, if anyone who did get a copy (top shelf or otherwise) and who would be prepared to share Dave Darcy's words of wisdom with he rest of us I, for one, would be truly grateful! I think there were quite a few others involved who dropped out one by one because of his attitude.

Can't see much wrong with his attitude towards bringing speedway back to Leicester. Like I say, very short term memories.

Yes there would . and it wouldn't have been run into the ground over 5 years , because the people who actually brought Leicester speedway back ,would have done whatever was needed to ensure it's success , not done whatever suited polishing their own egos , Hemsley along with his lunatic wife. shat on their dream and ran roughshod over 28 years of THEIR hard work ..

Cross Roads
Just read the article in the star bullet points below: life long fan wants to promote family's back into the sport, applauds the efforts of chapman to secure the long term future of leicester they have both put finances into the promotion, very critical of Hemsleys involvement and seemed embarrassed that the riders pay issue was not resolved until recently. Trying to bring back all the sponsors, accepts is an entertainment business and believes can turn around the fortunes. Good riders have been contacting the promotion but want assurances Hemsley is not involved. They are awaiting outcome of coventry as there maybe riders who would fit there plans but at the same time hopes they survive.Doesn't believe that ground sharing with coventry is the way forward. If indeed he understands the fans concerns lets hope track changes are imminent as those I talk to seem to always raise this. Need to get moving pretty quickly once this weather changes if to action with the season around the corner. Let's get behind the guy and hope we finally get a team to be proud of with a good nights entertainment....fingers crossed.

Well you won't be surprised that I wont bother entering into any conversations with you about it . I know who they are , they know who they are , and so do many of the older Lions fans , you think St David did it all , you're welcome to your own misconceptions , Edited January 12, 2017 by speedibee

Shame none of those "you know about" got it up and running. We can all talk about we can do this better, it's easy enough to do. All we know is one man put his money where his mouth is, the rest did nothing I assume. Anyway this is getting all a bit personal so let's leave it there. You know people who would have been involved and I have respect for someone who gave speedway back to Leicester. It's not about a points scoring opportunity. I just don't get the venom sprayed DH's way personally after what he made happen. Like I say, I'm not looking to score points.
