poolebolton
I think all teams will ride. Well I know three of your riders for next season. Schlein, Sedgmen and Lawson. Not bad considering thats only about 25 points. And you will have a cheap number 7 around 3 points. so 22 points for 3 riders isn't bad. justathought
Schlein rides for Ipswich on Thursday's. So if,as you say, he will sign for Leicester. that reduces race night options even further,
Big Al
It's basically twit for tat with the race night. Just depends how many ** there are as compared with tats. The w and ** added by mysterious forces. Jeez Edited December 30, 2016 by Big Al
John Scrutton
If Schlein does ride for Leicester and Ipswich who are Thursday tracks who will he have to ride for if they both riding that night as is bound to happen. because as far as is known he is a Coventry asset. New Science
There is no way a rider should be allowed to sign for 2 teams with the same race night
IronScorpion
There is no way a rider should be allowed to sign for 2 teams with the same race night It won't! Craig Cook signed for Peterborough & they had to change their main race night to Sunday rather than Friday(Belle Vue)

stevethelion
Schlein rides for Ipswich on Thursday's. So if,as you say, he will sign for Leicester. that reduces race night options even further, If Schlein, Lawson & Sedgmen are correct, like you say it rules out Thursday (Schlein at Ipswich) & Saturday ( Lawson at Glasgow).I presume Buster will be at KL on Wednesdays doing the track, so not Wednesday. Hopefully Coventry will be riding so that rules out Friday, isn't Tuesday Swedish league & Sunday Poland. So by process of elimination that leaves Monday! But then we're just guessing, so probably best to wait & see.
John Scrutton
I am begining to wonder if they really want Speedway at Leicester. what with'' if its certain night they won't go'' If they want it so badly they will make it whatever night. poolebolton
I imagine Monday or Tuesday, Sedgmen, Lawson and Schlein do any of them ride in Sweden. Sedgmen might but i'm not sure. It doesn't really matter what day you do ride. Its just about promotion.

John Scrutton
I don't think that Lawson-Schlein-or Sedgman rode for Swedish teams last season. certainly not in any of the matches that were televised. They were from the top league so they might have ridden in the lower league. not sure.
B.V 72
Belle vue raced on a Sat night then they moved to kirky lane and rode on a Fri then they had to move nights to a Mon then we moved into the new stadium and moved back to a Fri but ran most meetings on a Wed.But guess what i just found out what night they were racing and just turned up because i love speedway. Gemini
So would you say changing from a Friday to a Wednesday had any affect on the attendance at the new stadium or was it about the same?
B.V 72
So would you say changing from a Friday to a Wednesday had any affect on the attendance at the new stadium or was it about the same? Think we only managed to run 4 times on a Fri with the early season back log. Both nights were far better than the dog track but i would say that from memory that Fri nights had the better crowds. But saying that what team were visiting seemed to me to have a bigger say in crowd size whatever the night. weatherwatcher
Happy New Year to all Lions fans and also to all other fans in general. Hope there are not to many bad heads this morning, one good thing of not drinking these days.
g13webb
Going back to the years when speedway was a success story, Leicester was always Tuesday track. Is there any reason why they can't go back to that?? The fact a Tuesday race night clashes with Sweden shouldn't be too much of a worry, 'cos this league will not have many top riders to worry about. If, or when a clash does rise its head I sure Promoters can arrange an alternative night.... A lot of posters seem keen to concentrate on the negatives rather than being optimistic that the Lions will run and should have a competitive team..., Of cause there will be teething problems, but with the right mind set, everything is achievable.....
arnieg
Somerset are the only team without a rider who rode regularly in the Elitserien last year (assuming Fricke signs for Belle Vue). Furthermore it would rule out Kim Nilsson who has appeared in several posters speculative line-ups. So I think that Tuesday is a non-starter.

The league may not have too many riders racing in Sweden but most of the number 1's of the teams do so if the Lions did ride on a Tuesday (which they wont) the other promoters would have something to complain about and we fans would miss seeing what is left of the best riders in the league racing at Leicester. Much better for the Lions to go with a race night which can be established as the regular race night and a second night which makes sense too. Monday, Thursday and Friday remain the best three nights to perm any two from. just hope we get to know what night that will be soon and hear news of the riders who will make up the team.
