Leicester Lions 2017

Recommended Posts

Any news on which riders will replace Kim Nilsson / Pawel Przedpelsi this week at Rye House and Swindon then at Home v Kings Lynn yet ?

Rye House Wed - only Wolves and Somerset not riding so guest list is sparse!

Swindon Thurs - potential guest list better although will Danny King and Kyle Newman be riding as Ipswich are also riding that night ?

Cheers

A team is bottom of the league with two of their main men unavailable through injuries. They have a meeting and although their captain is fit, he is unavailable because he is riding for another team who are pushing for promotion in another league. The team suffers yet another defeat, whilst their captain is the top scorer for his other team in a meeting that they have won. If his great form for his other team continues, that team may well get promotion and replace the current 'top' tier team he captains.

You couldn't make this up......but this is where speedway is in 2017.

Brilliant! If I wasn't laughing so much I'd cry. But to top it all their captain could possibly ride against them should there be a relegation/promotion play-off.

Original fears that Kyle had broken his left ankle thankfully appear to be unfounded.

Last news was of muscle damage but nothing broken with recovery time unknown at the moment.

Pawel Przedpelski back for Torun today- not sure if that will be Leicester as well as he can`t be anyway fit.

That'll be about right.Fit enough to ride in a tougher league and then miss the weaker UK league.I sincerely hope he makes his UK comeback in Leicester's next meeting.

The Torun hierarchy forced Pawel to race today because of Miedzinski's 'last minute' injury withdrawal. However 10 from 5 rides is about what Miedzinski would have scored.

If Adrian had been fit then Torun would have done better to use Prezdpelski to cover for Hancock, as J.Holder came back to reality and only scored 5 + 1 from 5 in yet another Torun home defeat!! (ps they are having worse season than Poole!!)

Pawel himself is very keen to come back to Leicester and get racing as well as earning some money.

It was my understanding that he was always going to practice after the meeting and has already had a session on Thursday and Saturday

When he returns will all be in Toruns hands as will they demand that he stays in Poland next Saturday to practice or will they see riding in U.K. Is better for him

Why indeed. Just pay on the night as you never know with UK weather if it's going to be chucking it down with rain and you will lose your £17.

Looking at a visit to Leicester on Sat 26th as part of the Cycle Speedway British Finals weekend. Looking on the website it says adult admissions are £17 plus a 50p online fee! Is it also £17 on the gate? If so why would anyone book online?

It is £17 on the gate. No need to book online. No idea why anybody would either!

it's the same price at Swindon, but.... if you book on line you get a programme thrown in as well, saving you £3

Could be wrong but I don't reckon the generosity of the Lions promotion lends itself to a programme being thrown in.

Then again I haven't bought a programme at a meeting since 1983

Credit where it's due!

Unbelievable news from the Lions... they've put the start back this Saturday until 8pm to counter any possible sun delay! That's the first bit of good news to come from the club in recent weeks... now to sort out the rest of the problems with the sport
