beckettlion
Provided Cov are still racing, don't think Friday would be in the best interest of the club, or the sport, as some fans like watching racing both at Beaumont park and Brandon. Fingers crossed that everything is resolved down that end of the M69 and we don't have friday made available to us for the wrong reasons... Tuesdays are a non-starter as no team will want to race us without their big names who will still be racing in the Swedish leagues The article in the speedway star suggested to me that a team had already been signed. Presumably, they'll work out the travel logistics and potential fixture clashes for the riders involved and decide whether Monday nights or Thursday nights are the most viable option (both of which have worked for other elite league clubs in recent years and therefore shouldn't be a problem for the Lions) But thankfully, we will have the Lions at the tapes in 2017. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!

Gemini
Hope your not being serious Of course he/she is as it has made the same remarks before. Unfortunately it is still bitter about the closure of Blackbird Road 33 years ago which it blames on the Coventry promotion so wants the same thing to happen to them. No point in repeating it was Midland Sports Stadiums decision and Charles Ochiltree was only one of the directors involved, plus nothing at all to do with any Coventry promoters since then. Sad really.
Big Al
Choice of race night/s will never suit everyone, but what about the price and the presentation? If a relatively high number of league matches need to be staged in March and April, they need to get the prices right to entice people along to stand around freezing their bits off. So lets have some realistic prices in early season, ten or twelve quid, promote the offer properly and at least try and ensure that some money is coming into the club. And get the meetings over and done nice and quick with minimum faffing about. Then from May start pushing up the individual prices but with good family group offers, more racing with the MDL matches, additional "entertainment" and once again promote it. Wakey wakey speedway, you have to be giving value for money and more in tune with the climate. Oh, and have it on a race track, to state the bleeping obvious.
weatherwatcher
I would think by now everything is done and dusted, it would not surprise me in the least if the hheavy machinery has not already made its way to BP ready to start ripping up the track and putting it in to a shape that should have been there from the very start. We will only be able to come in the school holidays if it is mid week as I need my grandson there to help me with my wheelchair etc. Hope that 2017 is going to a year to make the fans happy at long last and not coming to see them fall by the wayside time and again, be icing on the cake if they made the top 4 teams. We can live in hope. I am sure that Buster is not going to come here and have a team of old lags and no hopers, as we have had the last 3 seasons. We will soon be put out of our miseries and know who the 7 names are.
speedibee
Fingers crossed that Coventry don't run !!!!! Are you serious ? unfortunately the Moron . ( and still the title holder of Leicester Lions biggest embarrassment ) is serious I would think by now everything is done and dusted, it would not surprise me in the least if the hheavy machinery has not already made its way to BP ready to start ripping up the track and putting it in to a shape that should have been there from the very start. beckettlion
I'd just stop replying to mrcts, and therefore stop giving them the attention they so clearly want, with posts like that He's definitely not a representation of Leicester Speedway or its fans. The best meetings of the season for Leicester are the M69 derby (with the exception of the play offs, if we ever get there!!). I look forward to many more years of racing, and hopefully beating, the Coventry Bees

mrcts
Pillock. (And I don't support Coventry)The origin of pillock is believed to go back to the 16th century meaning penis from the Norwegian word pillicock, presumably akin to the slang dickhead meaning inept fool.Sounds familiar tosspot now back off. I reckon Brandon will be used for allotments come March!

Gemini
There's something strange about people liking their own post, although perhaps understandable because they're the only one who will.
