Somerset V Glasgow Cup Final 2nd Leg Friday 14th October

Recommended Posts

You're agreeing with a post where he is comparing a rider being injured to a rider being an idiot, Laughable. Bates acted like an idiot but how should that tarnish Somerset? Why should we be called a horrible team because of it? The only one who should be regarded as horrible is the instigators.

Been looking but I can't see were I called Somerset a horrible team when you find were I have perhaps you could let me know.

And as for Bates were I quoted he was representing Somerset on the day so yes he did have something to do with them on the day in question.

I never said you did. On page 1 of this thread we were called a horrible team. I was replying to that post so as I said just because a guest acted like an idiot why should that deam Somerset a horrible team?

Fair enough can see your point as well regarding Bates as nobody knew how he would have kicked off the way he did.

Still not stopping using using him tonight though I would have chased him.

I think he was already booked for the two tbh, although i did write a message on the fb page saying not to use him as he is a joke.

I've run this meeting through my computer simulator and at first I thought the results were wrong ... but after rerunning I can confirm. GLASGOW TO WIN BY 8. ITS A NAIL ON.

Batter in lads.

Did you run the first leg through your "simulater "as well, what was the outcome of that , pray tell😂

We lost by 6 accurate tool this simulater thing.

In all seriousness though don't think any off us are expecting to pull it back.

Speedway racing is dangerous and incidents happen, wether it's our National League, The Polish Leagues or the GP series. Riders get injured as a result of other riders actions or their own. But I think it would be very wrong to infer that they are deliberate actions, if so nearly every meeting would see riders scraped up off the track and carted off to hospital, some never to return! The laydown engines, exhaust systems and track issues play a big part in riders lifting and coming together at times. Throwing the bikes at each other would more than likely cause them as serious an injury as well as there opponent, so it just doesn't make sense.

However an 'on track' incident as with Bates and Bach, or Lingren and Cook (EL play off final) are probably far better sorted after the race, with the old 'Sticks and Stones' saying. But Bates probably went too far, bruising his own knuckles on Bachs' helmet, but as I've said many times before he's got an excuse, "he's from Barnsley".

So it's happening again tonight, think you all need to take a deep breath, count to ten slowly and see what happens on the track!

I'm guessing our people will have had a word, if he plays up again then you could say maybe we should not have used him. If he has any brain at all he knows he must be on good behaviour. Rumours are about he may need to move from the Tigers, if he thinks he may be in with a shout with us, he needs to grow up. In saying that he is young , and I have defended a few young riders on here over the years for hissy fits. Safe meeting please with the Rebs getting over the line.

Tigers starting with Lunna weakens them a bit, only scored one in the league defeat, whilst R/r for him in the cup match against the four man Rebs achieved 7 +1.

There are quite a few Sheffield fans that think Bates needs a season or two away from Owlerton to help him develop. Being away from Sheffield and all the family ties, might help him grow up a bit. Having said that it didn't help riding for the Rebels at Glasgow did it?

Somerset might be a good club for him, plenty of recent success and a similar track. Can't remember how he's performed there this season, but he's not been that brilliant around Owlerton this year IMO.

I AM EXPECTING US TO PULL THIS BACK. 100%

GIRFUY

Sadly we have no chance and it doesn't help when people post stuff like this - its not funny  Out of interest how long has Zach been out injured? surely there was someone else out there who would have scored as many as Zach had been scoring and that way you wouldn't have got the sly comments about using guests on a horses for courses/who's the cheapest policy.

Oh look Worrall attempted to take Tungate out in heat one.....perhaps he thought he was Nick Morris, but of course Glasgow riders wouldn't dream of being hard on there opponents would they?

Tungate returned the favour a few heats later with a bit more.
