Nl Pairs 16th October

If Ash and Cleggy are riding for us it will be hard to look beyond them for winners.

Their understanding and team riding at Monmore has been superb this season. In Heats 13 and 15 of the Semi against the Brummies they produced two superb 5-1s and not from the gate either. Ash stayed wide to block Tom Perry and Cleggy sneaked round the inside. After that it was shoulder to shoulder all the way with Cleggy shutting off to make sure Ash got his maximum.

Its the sort of understanding weve seen before from Penhall and Schwartz and Hamill and Hancock. Great to watch (unless you are on the recieving end).

Good luck to them.

That was the line up from the original staging in August, which was rained-off.

The line up will have changed since then. e.g. Stokes is now out, Hume and Bewley are out injured. Ayres and Greaves are at Glasgow. etc

At a guess i suspect the groups will look similar to below. I actually think its a lot more open with Cradley, Eastbourne, Belle Vue, Kent & Rye House in with a good shout. There will be the odd big heat that could swing it and no room for mechanical gremlins that can dog meetings at this time of year.

So, how come Buxton don't get a go?

Buxton team maybe could have been R/R and number 8

I'm sure we could have got a team together if we had been asked.

That's the trouble with speedway........too many snobsters!

Anyway, you can stick your crummy NL Pairs Trophy where the sun don't shine.

Without a crack Buxton team, the competition is rather devalued.

Perhaps next year?

. You wouldn't be saying that if you had won it. Suppose you think the same of the league and the KO cup... trophies are overrated right? Edited by Al3x200

King's Lynn website says a preview will be on there a little later this week.

Just looked and not even a mention about a future preview...that away loss by the Young Stars at Buxton must really have been a shock to the system.

4 days before the event and were still not sure of the line ups!! usual Speedway organisation coming into play

3 days now... Is it or isn't it actually on? Pathetic (total lack of) organisation and (total lack of) promotion going on here. And this at the track of the BSPA supremo himself. Has anyone heard anything mentioned about this event at their local tracks? Don't recall anything being said last time at Perry Barr.

Its mentioned on the Eastbourne rain off bit.

Have to agree, though. A major NL event and we have no idea who is riding or whether it is even definitely on.

Trophies are always over-rated if your team doesn't win! Thought everybody knew that.

Anyway, clearly Buxton are more focussed on their previous night's vital National Trophy against the Stoke Potters.

Which neatly brings us back round to meaningless contests.....

I have been out and bought a lovely tin of emulsion (magnolia) for my bathroom.

I shall be spending Saturday night watching it dry as that will be far more entertaining than last Saturday's "entertainment".

And at least there is a pretty good chance that my lights won't pack up.

If I had to wager 50p on the outcome of the Pairs, I think I would venture it on the Cradley duo but it is a hard one to decide.

Be careful out there, it's a dangerous world.
