The Collapse Of The Pound And The Effect On The El

Recommended Posts

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Don't you just love the continuing butt hurt of the remaniacs. Dry your eyes.

You can just picture the Duchess of Sherborne on the Poole harbour front, holding hands with his new best mates, and fellow virtue signallers,Yvette Cooper,Diane Abbott,Bob Geldof ad Eddie Izzard, forlornly holding up their refugees welcome signs, whilst gazing over the channel to a distant Brussels their beloved capital.

One of the many reasons for the fall in sterling has been quantitative easing,or printing money in old terms, allied to the fact we now have record low bank rates.

But inflation isn't a problem in the global economy, in fact deflation is a far greater risk.Fortunately many years ago we ignored the so called experts you worship and didn't join the Euro.So we still have control of our domestic monetary policy. The MPC can quite easily tighten monetary policy if it so wishes by raising interest rates.

Still look on the bright side, we avoided Osborne's imaginary punishment budgets, I think we may just have escaped WW3,and your beloved IMF has admitted it got its post brexit analysis wrong, and we are the fastest growing economy in the G7. The FT100 and FT250 are at near record levels, meaning millions of ordinary working people are seeing a huge boost to their pension policies. House prices haven't collapsed, there are no food shortages in the shops, try Venezuela for that.

The ex Australian PM Tony Abbott admitted he let out a quiet cheer when we voted for freedom, and said that most of the English speaking Commonwealth will be quietly delighted we have voted to leave.Indeed I believe only last week there was an official delegation from Australia in London to open trade talks with the UK,.

Makes you wonder why we are leaving seeing we are doing so well ...no doubt all these great things happened the moment we decided to leave . it will be years before we know if leaving or staying was the right thing to do ..but already we have got people claiming it some great success about 12 weeks later .

Ah, trade talks....

You do realise that this a two way street, dont you ?

Lets says, for example, that we open trade talks with Argentina and Brazil, no way would their governments agree to a trade deal without their beef products being able to be sold in the UK.....OK, fine, south American beef gets sold here....Queue some very unhappy British farmers.....

Exactly, as we have with others claiming there will be one disaster after another, it's all crystal ball stuff. Let's have another conversation in 5-10 years time.

The House of Lords doesn't actually make any laws. It's nothing like the EU parliament at all.

The Royal Family don't make laws either.

If you had bothered to read the initial post, it referred to 'making laws' and 'telling us what to do'.

They certainly appear frequently doing the latter.

Unelected.

Tax-dodged for years.

Yet continue to increase their wealth as the ruling elite of a Nation: wherein 1 in 4 children are living in abject poverty.

Bin 'em!

The difference is, however, that we are not compelled or legally obliged to do as they tell us.

There is an argument that the royals bring a lot of money to UK but that is for another day. The Queen is a constitutional monarch who is obliged to sign Acts of Parliament into law - she cannot refuse.

It's our history and quaint way of life that tourists seem to lap up the Royals have their place of course but

the wealth they hold in land and possessions is way out of balance to a democratic nation in the 21st century.

The tax revenue avoided by this institution could clear the current national debt easily.

The Queen pays income tax and has done so for several years...

The Queen pays income tax and has done so for several years...

Became the Queen in 1952. Started paying tax in 1993.

41 years of tax avoidance.

Not bad, eh?

Anyone else would have been banged up.

And meanwhile, her 'loyal citizens' are supposed to look up in awe at this mob? Don't make me laugh.

Stick them all on a zero hours contract.

Let them have to scrimp and save to pay a private landlord.

Let them have to go to the bottom of an ever-increasing NHS waiting list.

Let their offspring have to be amongst the 25% of kids being forced to live below the poverty line.

The ever-increasing divide between the rich and the poor within our society is nothing short of sickening and despicable.

Indeed but the Crown Estates is where the real wealth is generated.

The royal family are paid out of the crown estate, a figure agreed by MP's. She then pays tax on this. The remainder goes into government coffers. HRH pays for herself via rent and tourism.

She's actually an asset that generates a decent amount of money for us.

If people want to wallow in self pity, not get themselves an education, sit on their arse and expect the state to fund their lifestyle they don't get any sympathy from me.

Plenty of opportunities if people want them but too many people want it gift wrapped.

The Queen still brings more kudos to this country then you could ever imagine and if people want to come and see her and spend their monies here because London is a great place then good on her.

My family are from a council estate, we all worked hard, all have good jobs, we pay tax/NIC, we didn't have a family holiday, or new clothes, we were below the poverty line but I am not moaning or self-righteous.

I get on with it and so does everyone else. Your anti-Roylist anti-capitalist stance is amazing. I bet you own your own home, nice car, have a good job, go on holiday.

How much thought do you give to the poor then?

Anyway, back to the topic...

I can't remember the Royal Family telling me what to. Only the law makers have done that . Personally , I don't see what the Royal Family have to do with the discussion. I agree that there is no logic in them having their position buy birthright, and I am nor a royal flag waver, but basically they don't encroach on my life. I can see the argument for replacing them but I am not sure the alternative is any better, especially if you consider for example the case of Baroness Ashton, never been I elected to anything in here life and on the strength of being a mate of Blair, she gets parachuted into the jod of EU Comissioner with the power to influence people far more than the Royal Family.

Personally I think it's people like her, Kinnock and Mandelsson on the EU gravy train that turn people against it far more than immigration.

It's got a better ring to it than 'Voice Of The Brainwashed'.....that clearly fits some others.

Where were her taxes from 1952-1993? Lost in the post?

And at 90, 'still working'. Do you honestly call her lifestyle - 'work'?
