Bagpuss
Is it fair that a rider whose average has been earned in a top five all season can guest for one who has spent the vast majority of his at reserve? Been far too many meetings just recently won by the team who can choose the best guests. Discuss.
Lioness
I had an Irish and an English Grandmother a Scottish Father and an English Mother work that one out. oldtimer
Glad the Rebels won, but feel sorry for Glasgow beaten by a guest reserve.

Teams should never be stronger with a guest than they would with their own rider. If you have an injury in the team that's bad luck but shouldn't make you stronger.
Gazc
Glad the Rebels won, but feel sorry for Glasgow beaten by a guest reserve. Guest reserve or not the best team on the day won makes up for another woeful performance from your No 1.
Blackadder
What were the fisticuffs all about? If the reason wasn't obvious, maybe it was something that was said. Josh punched the pits wall at Leicester once, because he was verbally belittled by an opponent.(The wall won).
TheScotsman
Don't think so Gazc. You're being very diplomatic. Astute choice of guest taking full advantage of the rules won. Don't blame the Rebs at all - it's the rules that are at fault.

He scored 14 from 7. Luckily it didn't matter that day. Edited October 9, 2016 by Shads

Didn't take a genius to work out that Bates was going to have a field day today. Edited October 9, 2016 by Gordon Bennett

damosuzuki
Best team won, we had a couple of let downs but Somerset are a class outfit. Roll on next week. Totally agree with you yet again !...looks like a guest (reserve) from a main team placing can win you you the cup. When are the "authority's" going to think these things through. Also how ridiculous is it that Coles who rode for Ipswich against Rebels only a few days ago, rides for the rebels today, wouldn't happen in any other sport..its farcicle

Cliffeboy
Great stuff from our lads today, totally didn't expect that from Bates , so respect to him. You see Tigers we are the real deal when we have all 7 on show. I think there is a good argument that a reserve can only be replaced by another reserve as a guest. Didn't take a genius to work out that Bates was going to have a field day today.Identical averages BWD and Josh.

With all the rumours about him, Garrity and other Sheff riders along with countless other incidents including today, it makes you wonder what sort of idiot Bates really is. I can see your point but nobody would be discussing this if he'd have had an average or nightmare meeting, it's sods law really.
