junior fan
You would think that the Bears management, would have learned from the experiences of previous Bears managements. When they sacked Justin Sedgemen, before the meeting started (at home to Scunthorpe I think ). Then were surprised when he tootled round for 3 fat zero's. Did the same to Branford sacked him then asked him to continue riding because the new rider wasn't available yet, thought with Havelock gone things may have improved , wonder if they went to the expense of a phone call or just a text. Bagpuss
Struggling to see why he was signed really, was never likely to be a success. Ayres is a good signing.
RedcarRacer
Brilliant signing for Redcar, not just because we are getting rid of Hall, who was poor - but shows how pro-active the new management are - we used to get sick of seeing other teams making changes, we didnt do them until August if we were lucky - we are now a club going places, and that is shown by moves like this. I personally believe riders put more in when they know that they have not got a guaranteed team place no matter how bad they ride, as was the case with us in previous years. Well done KK

BenR195
The team change needed to be made yesterday because a team needs to be redeclared 3 days before the new averages come out, we couldn't of waited till after Thursday to do it because then we'd of had to use the new averages

I hope that he does well for the 'Bears'. Good luck Danny.

Junior I'm sure the new promotion conducted this action in an appropriate manner. I can't comment on the past instances, but would hope in this case Richard was asked/given the opportunity to ride on Thursday and if he didn't feel like it could have said no - as he has agreed you would expect him to be professional and give 100% Quite often changes have to be made with averages deadlines approaching and the incoming riders can't make the next meeting, it is another querk of the sport!

I'd also add that Redcar since 2006 must be one of the clubs who have dismissed the least riders overall (not counting injuries / retirements) some might say they held onto some for to long.
bigcatdiary
Struggling to see why he was signed really, was never likely to be a success. Ayres is a good signing. Good point but I supposed his average fitted the gap left.
Boothers
some might say they held onto some for to long. Started with that nice bloke that rode for us for a few years, who's name escapes me at the moment. Foreigner I believe. Really nice bloke though. Couldn't ride for toffee. I liked him though! Apparently he was a really nice chap!
