stevehone
All you ever hear from abroad is riders not being paid and Clubs living beyond their means. How does that work ?? I'm sure we'll find out when it all goes pop, but I just don't want that happening in THIS country, I love the sport too much
marko
It's not often I agree with Jon Cook but his comments Re: the traffic on a Friday night are spot on, and this is coming from a fan who lives in Essex so doesn't require the tunnel, the only night we're the M25 is not a joke is Saturdays, even Sunday evenings can be a pain in the neck, I've learnt that the hard way after visiting family in Oxfordshire at weekends. National League might be a hard sell for some fans as the Hackney Hawks experiment did not go well but PL racing would still attract crowds, a lot of fans who only started going in the last few season would have never witnessed that level but the last season I can say I really enjoyed from start to finish was 2003 when we were racing in the second tier. royal
A replacement trick track aswell Sorry Baldyman, but I would like to take issue with this. Some of the best racing this season has been at Rye House. I live way closer to Ipswich than Hoddesdon, but I choose to watch my speedway at the latter because it is so much better. I have been to Foxhall twice this season and thought the track and the racing were awful. Please not EL for the rockets ?
SCB
Stupid claim regarding Berwick, with John Anderson being in charge for 8 years and Peter Waite before him for even longer. In the last 20 years is there a club that's had as many promoters/owners as Berwick? And it's not a dog at Berwick, it's just pointing out the realities of the PL not exactly being in a strong position.

Baldyman
Hardly or didn't you notice the number of close meetings this season? You obviously class a trick track different to me. but that's okay. Sorry Baldyman, but I would like to take issue with this. Some of the best racing this season has been at Rye House. I have been to Foxhall twice this season and thought the track and the racing were awful. Please not EL for the rockets ? We all have different opinions, and on what a trick track is. What I will agree with though is the times I've been to Rye this season, the track has been the best I've ever seen it and the racing the best I've seen it. And I agree the racing at Ipswich is really poor. And this year worse than ever.
E I Addio
You obviously class a trick track different to me. but that's okay. On that basis you might as well say they are all trick tracks and nobody could say you were wrong. Bit of a pointless argument to make really. Vincent Vega
I cant see Lord Kelv staying with us if we are running in the NL. Hopefully it will be the PL. Will look forward to a season in the PL more than another dull season in the EL.

Hawk127
I know many are against it but if some clubs are to survive and attract more than just home fans then regional leagues or North/South may be the only answer to keeping some clubs going. Local derbies always generate interest.I know I am an old codger but Eastbourne/Rayleigh/Romford/Ipswich/Canterbury/Crayford were always must go to meetings for the rivalry and the atmosphere and nothing has really changed especially now that you no longer have the characters that use to grace the sport. However when Bradford or Scunthorpe or Teeside came to Rayleigh you still got a few fans from the opposition because it was a Saturday night track. Sadly those days have long since gone. Alternatively it may have to revert to how it use to be with riders being part timers and holding down other jobs outside the sport. What ever happens I hope that Lakeside race in 2017 and even if it is open meetings with perhaps top riders attending, it will be much better than them being lost to the sport and throw in a few NL meetings it has to be better than closure. Are tracks still allowed to run the open meetings?

Is that sufficient enough for you? Peter Waite had 12 years and John Anderson had 8, Plymouth and Redcar will be on to their 3rd in around 9/10 and 10/11 respectively. I havn't bothered to think about EL and NL.
Steve Shovlar
Not a mention of Stuart Douglas. Has he pulled out of the club? Living in the usa what is the point if the club are losing money and he isnt around to at least enjoy the racing.

Starman2006
Friday night traffic has put me off time and again going to Lakeside: I think: nice day but oh, the M25 - I will stay at home. Good luck Jon and the Hammers - if you are in the NL, it will make for some tasty matches with Kent and the Eagles---Rye House too if they have a NL team. Theres an answer, leave earlier. Roadworks are a bain of this country now. You wait untill they start on the 40 mile stretch of the M4 from Heathrow inwards next year, you think its bad now !! I'm sure we'll find out when it all goes pop, but I just don't want that happening in THIS country, I love the sport too much But the top boys still choose to ride in Poland and Sweden, how does that work.. Hey guys - a Coventry based speedway supporter here who loved / loves the sport. We don't need the big names (riders) - just need to be provided the entertainment. Good luck Lakeside ! Ultimately Saturday night speedway is what I was brought up with and will always be the best imo ! Ok once a year there is a GP within the country, but for the REAL sport fan, this is just a distraction ( and an expensive one too)
STEPHEN 333
Wow, never saw that coming from Lakeside, been to Lakeside twice this year, that for me is a 450 mile round trip for each meeting from my home in Yorkshire, I was at that meeting against Poole when so few turned up, now I know why, I found the trip down the A1,onto the M11, down to the M25 quite easy for me, just over and around four hours travelling time infact, but clearly coming the other way from the Kent side is quite horrendous by the sound of it, really hope if there are any people from Lakeside on here I'm sending my best wishes to you all and your supporters and really hope you find the right answer to the problem, just a thought, maybe Saturday racing in either the Elite or Premier league with a 3pm start time might be the answer, no football during the summer, easy for supporters from other tracks to get there as well, just my thoughts.
