Daytripper
Personally I think top flight tracks should have some spectator facilities (like seats!).. In this respect they are no loss. This is 2016....surely its not an unrealistic expectation in this day and age is it?The test for top flight tracks is the quality of the team, not the quality of the facilities. It has to be said though that Arena Essex which was thrown up relatively cheaply by private money nearly 40 years ago, is now life expired. The owners apparently want to sell up as costs of updating are prohibitive and a new stadium is desperately needed. Efforts are being made to find a new home, with the support of the local MP but in the meantime the club has to soldier on as best it can with the facilities it has. There is no easy answer. The fact remains that without the inclusion Lakeside, for all its faults the top flight, already down to the are minimum, would already have collapsed by now. Sings4Speedway
£2000, Ridiculous but not uncommon and yet for that figure you could pay an entire NL 1-7 after a decent win.
Hornsey
That's not welcome news. I would certainly take PL, or even NL racing, rather than no racing at all next season. I also wonder how the EL will survive with, what, 7 teams?
SCB
and yet for that figure you could pay an entire NL 1-7 after a decent win. At £10 a point in the NL you could pay the home and away team for both the home and away leg in the NL! And probably have change unless they were high bonus point scoring meetings! Falcon Hammer
On Kelvin Tatum's Twitter "I'll be staying on with the Hammers for the new chapter. With everyone working together we will push on. As one door closes, another opens." Expect NL with Leigh Lanham & Zach Wajtknecht spearheading the team
THE DEAN MACHINE
One track even had a call from a mechanic asking to talk about HIS deal for 2017. one club offered me £275 a week (some are on more)march to October to mechanic for one of their riders , I turned it down as I wasn't really interested in doing it , don't really have the time and if I'm honest I can't stand the rider but the club has got mechanics on the pay roll Edited November 1, 2016 by THE DEAN MACHINE

However still sustainable at £20-40 a point and i think Lakeside could attract a very useful NL side if it went down that route, line up some potentially spicy local derbies and provide very entertaining racing. Post like the above really outlines all the problems that exist with our sport.... EL , Pl and NL should all be as one and rules, regulations, governing bodies and format should apply to all leagues. Posters like the above talk of one league as if its superior to the others. Let gets one thing straight here, the reason the sport is in the dire straits its in, is because of attitudes like this. It should be every clubs and every fans ambition to ride in the top league. Any other intentions merely highlights the ridiculous attitudes that exists between the leagues.... Here's hoping Buster can install some common sense....... We sure need it....

PHILIPRISING
Thats just the start mate... Why would two want to move up. How is this going to benifit them financially ? THEY would get some Sky money for starters and more whenever on TV but it's not a massive amount these days. Some PL teams paying just as much as EL ones (with the exception of some riders like Jonsson, Zagar, etc) so presumably they figure it is a viable option. Somerset ...... and Ipswich or Sheffield or possibly Glasgow as an outsider? SHEFFIELD and Ipswich have already stated they don't want to move up, cannot see Ipswich changing either. And people want all the big boys back. Its never going to happen phil, costs are stupid, you know that as well as i do. And we do not have the depth of riders to go round. Unless something dramatic is done with the fixture list. Then the majority of clubs will still struggle to pay the big boys. IF they are enticed back. Which i seriously have my doubts. people nowadays only have so much disposable money.. Edited November 1, 2016 by Starman2006

Baldyman
Are two clubs looking to move up, or have they had a fairly good size carrot dangled to get the elite league out of the poop with the sky contact???
