Wolves 2017

Recommended Posts

Let's be honest and fair everyone, no way should Tai've come in on a 7 average, as World Champion he realistically should've been an 8.5. He had a crap year when he obtained that 7!

Let's be honest and fair.

Tai's average was 7.03, achieved over a FULL Season in pretty much the same format.

Absolutely 100% the correct average to come in on.

If anyone has an issue with it, they've pretty much got an issue with every season of league speedway since pts limits were introduced.

And not one person complained how poorly that affected our year in 2014 (wolves fans aside!).

You could fit the Purfleet track inside most Polish & Swedish tracks. How is it even mildly representative if you do that? Shall we include the USA & Australia? How on Earth do you factor those in?

To cut costs and also to counter act the moves being put in place in Poland, Britain are looking to stop all GP riders from riding in the Elite League and any rider that has a high average or a recent foreign GP rider like Andreas Jonsson or Peter Kildemand so next season it's unlikely you will see Doyle, Iversen, Zagar, Jonsson, Holder, Kasprzak or Lindgren if this goes ahead.

This is also to help some tracks move up to the Elite League with Somerset, Sheffield, Rye House, Glasgow and Edinburgh being asked to join the Elite League and possibly three of those making the switch. This would mean riders like Harris, Cook, Lambert and King would be the main top riders along with Masters and Thorssell.

If this does happen and it's very likely to go somewhere along those lines, Sam Masters and heat leaders wouldn't be possibly be allowed to double up as they would be a number one in both leagues, so riders doubling up would more be the likes of Max Clegg, Joe Jacobs, Stefan Nielsen and could see the number seven rider being a National League draft.

So the Wolves team could be something along the lines of Jacob Thorssell, Chris Harris, Tobiasz Musielak, Gino Manzares, Ashley Morris, Max Clegg and Matt Williamson. Maybe not looking that strong, but they would all be along the same strengths and at least it gives more scope for British riders

Does anybody else find max clegg riding for wolves just wrong , this is nothing personal against max clegg just how did we get to the point where a spoon also rides for wolves . Its bad enough that they squat at our home , It's just wrong

And the end of the EL if that's the strength for the future.

Dreadful if that ever happens.

I see your point but I would be suprised if Wolves started with this team regardless.

I would say Harris comes in to replace Woffinden.

Perhaps a similar line up to last year with

Lindgren

Howarth

Harris

Musielak

Thorsell

Clegg

Another Cradley rider?

Or alternatively you could use Masters or Kylmakorpi for a heat leader.

Wolves have a lot of options to have a solid outfit unlike Kings Lynn.

To me Thorsell and Masters are the riders that the Wolves team should be built around for the next few years. Both capable of becoming top heat leaders and possibly Grand Prix standard. Would certainly prefer to see those two in the team to the unreliable bomber, but be good to have them all if the averages fit

I thought Musielak looked good at the Olympique and be happy to have him in as a second string

Lindgren

Musielak

Masters

Harris

Thorsell

Clegg

Morris

Would think riders like Sam Masters, Craig Cook, Daniel King etc would have to decide which league they want to ride in as they could be the number one rider in either league if a number of top riders are prevented or choose not to race here next season.

There is a few rumours going around that NO GP riders will be in Britain next season plus riders like Andreas Jonsson or Krzysztof Kasprzak so riders like Kasters and Cook surely wouldn't be in the Premier and Elite League and doubling up should be for the riders like Jacobs, Bates, Clegg, Sarjeant etc.

Hope that rumour proves unfounded then.
