hammer1969
Yours probably right but until I see the finish scoreline I am living in hope that I will be at Rye House watching them beat Glasgow in the final ! - I am forever an optimist
Vincent Vega
Your not going to Newcastle tonight then Shads!! Your meeting tonight is like our 2nd leg the other week v Belle Vue.
leander
Lots of delays tonight for various reasons,,but in between some very good racing,,it was always going to be a close run thing here ,and it now looks like Newcastle will likely progress to the final .,,Some good performances from Robbo,,Heeps and Morley ,and Busk Jacobson and the rest had their moments..Stand out rider was Newcastle,s Steve Worrall,,with good back up from Morris and Palovaaraa,,, Barker was a big let down to himself and Newcastle ...Roll on next season, and hoping the improvements at the track start to take shape..What league we will be in is anyones guess at the moment, personally i hope Rye stays in the Premier,,i do not think there would be the level of support needed for the Elite League... Barker had every right to be annoyed!!!! When heat 13 was stopped for an unsatisfactory start the 2nd time he returned to the pits gate as his throttle was sticking and he needed it to be attended to. YOUR pits marshall refused to open the pit gate as the ref had put two minutes on. Rules state a rider can't return into the pits (despite three of them doing that after the 1st stoppage) but a rider is allowed to receive mechanical assistance ON the track, and Ben was prevented from doing so by your pit marshall. Result his throttle stuck open in the rerun as he went inside Robbo and he brought him off !

Shadders
Look, we've all had a good giggle at Barker, but what if his throttle was really stuck open. Don't crucify the bloke unless you're 100% sure.

Pinny
Looks like Morley is turning into a barrie evans type rider, top NL rider but never make it in the pl. its good to see Branford progressing though

GWC
Looks like Morley is turning into a barrie evans type rider, top NL rider but never make it in the pl. its good to see Branford progressing though Never made it ! His scoring at home has been the reason Rye have got where they have this season. Yes he does struggle away but the PL is far too strong and guys at his level need encouragement. Ashley Morris is in the same position and struggles a lot but they are making a breakthrough but slower than some expect.
Ben91
Looks like Morley is turning into a barrie evans type rider, top NL rider but never make it in the pl. its good to see Branford progressing though  Morley has been improving year on year. I'd say this season he has had his best year in the sport, unfortunately the team around him at both levels were not very good. Whether there will be any more improvement from him I'm really not sure. I'd personally be looking to ride on a bigger track if I was Morley, it's the same thing that stopped Luke Bowen from progressing further than he did in my opinion. Stayed in the comfort zone of Rye and could score well at home but always struggled away from home. A season at Kings Lynn or the Isle of Wight in the NL would serve Ben well.  Never made it ! His scoring at home has been the reason Rye have got where they have this season. Yes he does struggle away but the PL is far too strong and guys at his level need encouragement. Ashley Morris is in the same position and struggles a lot but they are making a breakthrough but slower than some expect.  The PL isn't far too strong for Morley to be competitive, his average has been over four this season. His away form lets him down, he's beaten plenty of big names around Rye. As I've said above he needs to spend time at a bigger track to improve I think. He's improved every season he has been racing, maybe not as fast as others but it has happened. The next step is for him to score well away from Rye, so racing at a bigger circuit is the logical step to him performing to a higher standard on away tracks.

Rayleigh
Ben has exceeded my expectations this season but when you compare him with Branford the argument becomes clearer. Â Branford home ave (without BP) 6.00 Morley home ave (without BP) 5.87 Â Branford away ave (without BP) 6.42 Morley away ave (without BP) 2.59 Â I wish Ben well, but for his sake I hope he widens his experience on different shaped tracks as mentioned. Â The other point is he may also be a victim of doing TOO well, only speedway rewards an underachiever and punishes an improver. all because of averages. junior fan
If I was Robert Branford, looking at that away average, I'd be thinking about moving away from Rye Mr stats man Shads for my record , what would Robs averages be if you include his guest appearances. His away average for Edinburgh lat year was higher than his home as well which I believe to be a good thing. Bens got the talent form videos I've seen and I think next season will be his break through year. Â Junior
Pinny
Morley has been around for ages and is still averagin less than 3.00 away from home. Will turn into a luke bowen imo.
topsoil
Plenty of riders have made a career from being a one track specialist. If he can thrive around Rye House good for him. Shads if Branford wants to think about moving away from Rye we will have him in a heartbeat up at Berwick.

Adam Allott must've been touching an 8 point average at Kings Lynn and about 4.00 away. Can't think of anyone who was more of a one track rider then him More like ten and three! He was the ultimate gating tart and was able to get to the first bend in front 90% of the time at Lynn but very, very rarely away. Was so light and fast that once he got going at Lynn he won by a fair distance.
