John Leslie
Well according to Companies House, Christopher Morton is the only active director of Belle Vue Speedway Limited:- https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/06012405 So does that not suggest that it is his company? That suggests he is a director of that particular limited company. I could get a job as managing director of Tesco, but it doesn't mean I own Tesco. i could even pay £25ish quid to companies house and set up a company called "My own Tesco Ltd" and be the sole shareholder and appoint myself managing director... but unless my own tesco owns a few thousand shops I'm not going to be voted retailer of the year. B.V 72
Gloating? Are you truly mad? Why on earth would I gloat over the demise of a club? I said it was terrible news and it is. The very respected Gordon Pairman has just pulled the plug on his efforts to run Belle Vue. I believe its a complete smokescreen to say he is out of the country in January. That might have been a decent excuse years ago but you can be in complete contact in the middle of the Atlantic. It doesnt matter where you are if you have a phone signal as facetime and Skype work just fine. Why would he need to be in the room? More than likely he didn't like what he saw and pulled the plug. I do hope for Belle Vues sake that there are others who are willing to spend, by the sound of it, vast amounts of money to get the club back on an even keel. Unwarranted? Are people on here not allowed to have an opinion on what is going on at Belle Vue? Pairman pulling out is clearly worth debating. Too many on here trying to be politically correct and afraid of speaking out on an issue. If you think Pairman pulling out is good news then fair enough. Pairman pulling out. Belle Vue's options getting smaller with the clock ticking. I hope that something can be sorted but the season starts in about 8 weeks time with the fixture list published in a couple of weeks. Time for this preferred option to get his hands in his pockets and cough up the readies. All this waffle 3 interested partys Pairman did not make the final cut end of So where is the terrible news it means they are closer to picking the new Belle vue promoter out of the 2 remaining candidates.

Well, I know what you are saying but if nothing else, does he not at least own the name and the brand? David Gordon still owns the £30,000 of shares but he is no longer a director. So surely both these individuals are sill on the scene in some shape or form?
Gavan
steve dont you think suggesting belle vue running in the national league was unwarranted ?? no he wont see any issue with that. yet he goes on the Poole thread and tells people they shouldnt post there. Phil The Ace
So if Mark Hennessey get the nod, what would be his role? Would it be correct to assume that Chris Morton would continue his involvement? Thanks Not a clue
Steve Shovlar
steve dont you think suggesting belle vue running in the national league was unwarranted ?? At this time the club has no owner, and therefore no money. Surely rather than no speedway at all, a few people could get together and run a NL team on the old track. This would surely be preferrable to having no speedway at all. The costs would be minimal in comparison to taking on a top flight team in a stadium which has so far proved to be too expensive to run. Can you understand now why I suggested this? I don't believe the idea is unwarranted at all and needs to be considered.
Little Thumper
But surely the Covchester Cut 'n' Shuts were meant to be the fall-back position if either Belle Vue or Coventry weren't viable operations. The scenario where neither is a viable operation was perhaps not built into the original strategy. Anyway, let's hope that Mark Hennessey might prove to be the club's saviour. THINK that the prospective new promoters have plenty of money but their deal with MCC will be very different to that imposed on DG and CM last year. I believe that Mark Hennessy fell out with David Gordon some time ago but has been keen to get involved again and appears to be the preferred option for the BSPA. Its increasingly looks like the new promoters will effectively rent the facility on a meeting by meeting basis or perhaps an agreed rent for the season but nothing like the £300,000 facing DG and CM and that MCC will take over control of the stadium and be responsible for other events staged there. I wasn't aware that Manchester City Council was in the business of running stadia. I thought their function was to provide services for their residents. And even if MCC did go into the stadium management business, I'm not entirely sure what kind of events they would be putting on. But PHILIPRISING is closer to the horse's mouth than most of us and he has stated that speedway will definitely be taking place at Belle Vue Arena in 2017, so we will just have to accept what he is saying and await good news in the not too distant future.
