Belle Vue 2017

Recommended Posts

Well, they must be pretty strong rumours if people know that the new tenants have got big wallets.

Wow! At this rate, they might even be able to afford to pay the rent.

Happy days, methinks.

And I'd say they will only rent the track from the council and not own the whole stadium.

Best way to do it at this present time

No chance of Zagar coming back he is one of the reasons why Belle Vue are in trouble.

No he's not. What a ridiculous comment.

He wasn't paid either so the problem was elsewhere

I would send Fricke out on loan for one simple reason. He cant ride small tracks. Therefore Zagar is the better option if the owners can afford him.

Err I always thought Armadiddle was a small track?

He rode it pretty damned well.

Stupid comment.

Excatly. He is good on small tracks.

He did have a mind block on them though towards end of season. As he was poor on all small tracks 2nd part of season.

But then you think why would he risk his life if he wasn't getting paid. Don't blame him.

Yes but he was overpaid bigtime anyway 2000 pound plus a meeting is that right? He never always produced he was bloody expensive and believe it or not i rate Zagar.I have followed him from Trewlawny,Swindon,Reading onwards and he is world class but he is not worth the money he wants.

if there world class there worth every penny

speedway riders are very brave or stupid men who risk everything for fairly litte gain for most of them

footballers risk very little for a lot that much money they dont know what to do with it so most end up addicted to something either drink and or drugs or gambling or prostitues

motor bike racers risk it all for the love/thrill of the sport

but if he and others havnt been paid then the money hasnt gone to them has it

yes they might still be owed it

but the question every one is interested in is just where has the money gone as it looks like theres no trace of it going out

Please stop including Zagar in plans, BV couldn't afford him last year. With massive debts it would be a mistake in 2017, he wasn't exactly the dominant #1 he should be anyway.

We might not have won the league but he got us to 2 play off finals in his 4 years with us.

Will the new promotion have any debts though.I would think the depts would belong to the old promotion and not the new.

Not that i know anything just like the rest of us and i dont think we will ever find out.I just can't see any new promotion being interested at all if the old depts would be passed on to them.

But could it not be that there is an empty stadium.New promoters are interested, Council want income from empty stadium. Both get together council look at their business plan and come up with a new reasonable affordable rent.Council have income from speedway plus money from other uses of their stadium and new promoters just have speedway to worry about both happy that they can make it work sign on the dotted line.

If that is the case are they not just like most other promotions in a rented stadium and others can afford big name signings so why cant Belle vue.Good teams bring in the punters poor sides dont its in their best interest to field the best team they can afford and if they think they want and can afford Zagar why not.We as always will have to wait and see.

If the old promotion do accept the council's compensation deal then the remaining debts are inline with any other UK speedway business, in fact when it comes to paying riders Belle Vue are no worse than the majority of teams.

If Chapman hadn't been so prompt and decisive and blundered in everything would have been sorted by now. Coventry fans should consider themselves lucky that he buggered off on holiday when things got messy the other week, otherwise that helpful councillor chap wouldn't have had a chance.

If you have info on a compensation deal between Council and old promotion please tell us more.I think a lot of people would be very interested.

At the end of the day, the National Speedway Stadium was built with money that belongs to Manchester City Council (or their lender) and therefore with money that belongs to the council tax payers in the City of Manchester.

The councillors involved with this matter have an over-riding, legal responsibility to safeguard the money that they have invested in this venture and that responsibility must guide their actions going forward.

If I was a resident of the Gorton area of Manchester, I would have written to my elected councillors to ask them why they were squandering money on something that might be regarded as a vanity project, whilst at the same time advising me that local services were being withdrawn.

If this venture was to go pear-shaped for a second time, it is highly likely litigation would follow and the councillors should be very wary indeed.

Good looking team but Max was pretty much fed up with not being paid last season and while I understand it will be under new owners, he wants to get things sorted and rumours are that he is at Kings Lynn to replace Iversen and link up with Lambert,

As for Zagar, his wages are too much for British Speedway these days but if you have a rider picking up roughly the same as the no

The council won't just write it off and while a deal can be done, the owed rent is likely to be added to the current high rent, so if it goes up to qdxabout 12k a meeting, how can you add s rider that would add another 4K to that and you still have to add running costs, wages etc.

Drop Zagar and stay committed to the Worralls, Cook and Jacobs then add Bewley and you have the foundation of a good but cheaper team and all ride in here only. Look at the line ups, teams don't need a Zagar or Holder etc at present or afford them to ride in a stadium with about 1,000 fans
