Belle Vue 2017

calling other teams fans scum on social media , id say thats behaving like a d***k ! ,

certainly not one of his brightest moments I agree. Has Cook apologised for his childish behaviour?

Lindgren rode Cook out to the fence , gave him absolutely no room at all .

can't blame a rider for reacting to that

really?? Yet when Cook did it earlier in the meeting to a Wolves rider that was perfectly acceptable? ? If one is so is the other. You can't choose that one is acceptable and not the other!

A little advice. Their is no point in replying to stevebrum because the conversation will just go round in circles.

No surprise the troll joins in. There is a reason I'm not engaging with you and you have yet again proven me correct.

We are having a debate, it's isn't about going round in circles at all.

Not a debate. You're just a hypocrite. Calling Cook a d!ck for no reason.

As per usual only seeing what you want to see.

I already said Woffy was out of order saying what he said so that can't make me a hypocrite.

I see you have started on Woffy like one of your other aliases.

Anyway you have little relevance to add to this conversation.

I like Cook , he actually cares about the Belle Vue Aces and speedway in this country . and perhaps he did over react with Lindgren

But nothing to compare to Woffindens complete overreaction to a bit of booing ( and thats all it was at first ) , something the likes of Olsen / Mauger / Penhall got regularly .

popping wheelies after every race win while doing the W**@*** Hand gesture ! , did he really think that wasn't going to incite the crowd?

This stupid attitude of "the only option is to cut costs" is ridiculous. More cost cuts = lower attendances = even more cost cuts. It's quite clearly a one way ticket. The only way out of this is to get more people through the turnstiles. Reducing the quality isn't the way to do this. But nevermind, this topic has been discussed at length and it's clear the promoters are keen to simply hold on for as long as they can rather than do anything about it.

And before somebody comes back and says that they are doing all they can, stop fooling yourself. They've done sod all about it.

"Oh but they let kids in half price that one time 3 years ago"... that's not promoting.

And how is your masterplan to be financed? Speedway promoters aren't rich.

There is quite a bit of money in Speedway but sadly, the bulk of the money seems to go to those highest up the pecking order.

There are two solutions, either make the money flow down through the sport so that all the participants benefit more equally and the money doesn't disappear into the ether or form a breakaway operation which operates a simplified, community-based business model and where there is no requirement for various boards and associations to shove their beak in and syphon the money off.

Wouldn't you like to have some kind of share-holding in your local speedway team and wouldn't local business want to be involved with a community focussed sport?

I've no problem with riders giving it back as long as it's in the same pantomime style it was delivered by the crowd. Similarly I'd be happy to see more Cook style behaviour, it never amounts to anything and is soon forgotten between the competitors. If it ever goes too far there are plenty of folk about to reign it in.

It all adds to the occasion and I wouldn't even mind if it was staged now and then just to spice things up.

When the riders give it back they have to be mindful of kids and not do anything too risky but there is plenty they can do to get the crowd going.

Speedway crowds aren't the sort to start rioting either so I see no harm in it.

I actually miss the villains of yesteryear and the extra entertainment they brought.

I think one of the big problems with the sport is it's lost sight of the fact it's an entertainment and more often than not it's about amassing points and getting it over with.

Who cares what a few people think Cookie is a rare breed these days.Cookie loves Belle vue with a great passion and Belle vue fans love Cookie He above all other riders is the first name i want to see on the team sheet every year, and i don't think i am alone in thinking this.

If the worst thing happens at Belle vue i will be making a good few trips to Workington just to watch him ride.

Why don't you ask her yourself?

If you are a bit shy you could wear your Triple Champions badge prominently on your blazer lapel to attract her attention and break the ice.

I haven't got a Triple Champions Badge but if it makes you happy, I'll have a look on Fleabay and see if I can pick one up for a couple of quid.

if Cook was included in the GP's he would throw a hump every round with all the close hard racing at times he would be trying and I say TRYING to scrap with everyone.

Close hard racing , he doesn't mind . Its being stuffed in fence on the home straight by someone with 'previous' he takes offence at
