Belle Vue 2017

Recommended Posts

I didnt like how many meetings Fricke missed last year. May as well not have a part time rider. His future is in Poland/Sweden/Denmark. Let him get on with it.

Cant understand why the current British Champion has not got a place in the top British league. Yes I know he did have but that was taken away, but he has got to be somewhere in the Premiership or it makes a mockery of the matter.

Mac fricke is final rider announced

Without doubt King is the better option, Fricke was pretty disgraceful last year. Being injured for Belle Vue but riding for Rospiggarna every week. You don't need riders like that. And when Fricke did turn up in the playoffs he didn't perform. You know what you get from Danny King.

?????????????????????????????

Like a lot of teams, this Belle Vue team looks like they could be great, IF they all perform..... One thing that I think is great about the league this year is that there is no stand out team because of the all the different scenarios given that nearly all teams have riders who could either be really good or be ineffective.

Wolves = Skornicki & Howarth, Rye House = Nicholls & Watt, Poole = Anderson & Kurtz, Kings Lynn = Batch & Holder, Belle Vue - Fricke & Sedgmen.

The others, Leicester - as a team will sink or swim whereas in my opinion, Swindon and Somerset will struggle... Still I wish all teams well, nice to see Belle Vue with what appears to be a competitive team.... Let battle commence...

Perhaps a little ass twitching for Max but it got sorted eventually.

Very happy with this team. No out an out number 1, but 3 with the potential to be. Very solid feel to the top 5, and I think as a combination it's the strongest on paper. Some have better number 1s, but nobody matches up across all 5.

The young lads at reserve will struggle away, no doubt about that, but we've built enough to support it. However as the season goes on, certainly Dan, I think they will start to deliver points on the road.

At home they will be fine. Both know the track and will have the advantage of riding it at least once a week.

I'd make us favourite but there will be changes at the first set of averages I'm sure.

In respect of King, he's the victim of British speedway.

He'd have missed too many meetings so you can't blame BV for not taking him.

He'll get a ride at the first set of averages.

Very, very good team. Certainly one of the favourites.

Makes the top four race very interesting when it could otherwise have been fairly clear cut. Poole to finish fifth anyone :D

Matt ford won't hang about if changes are needed to make the top four

Feel sorry for King as Fricke has now been announced and a decent British rider can't get a place not Belle vue's fault but things need to change so riders like Danny King don't get left out when a team drops out.

True BV team is full of so much talent, if it doesn't win anything this year you have to fancy bulk of it will be back for years to come. Fricke, Bewley and Smith all seem to be the real deal while Worrall and Cook are nice riders to have in your team - both are commited riders who just want to win.

Bjerre is a fantastic signing for this season on that average. It's just Sedgmen I don't "get" and he won't be the worst 7-8 pointer in the Premiership. And if he doesn't do "it" then there's always he likes of Schlein, Berge and MPT.

Agree with all of that scb. Sedgeman isn't an amazing signing, but as riders in that point range go he is solid. Certainly the best "5th" rider in the league, and can't think of any riders on lower averages likely to score much better.

Being picky you could say there is no out and out number 1 and reserves may struggle away. But very very happy with the team.

MARK Lemon comes from the same town as Sedgman, has known him from birth and believes that he can get the best out of him on British tracks. If anyone can, he can!

Fair assessment that.

Sedgman has never delivered his potential in the UK. However as a 2nd string it makes sense. If he does develop, fantastic, but there is zero pressure for him to do so. Cook/Fricke/Bjerre will be your heat leaders.

Bewley was averaging over 8 in the PL before he was hurt, and next year will be a big season in terms of reaction. I believe there were doubts about him coming back. There is a risk of burnout as well doing 3 leagues.

That said I don't think I've seen a British rider with this much potential for about 10/15 years since Kennet came through. Bridger similar. If he can deliver on it we have a great rider here.

Team wise I'd go as follows in riding order:

Fricke

Sedgman

Worrall

Bjerre

Cook

Smith

Bewley

Bjerre/Worrall will swap at the first set of averages.

I don'tsee anything across a top 5 elsewhere as strong as that. No out and out number 1, but it's covered by its depth. Poole do, but Klindt starts at reserve.

Assuming nobody changes and no injuries (yes, my lottery numbers will come in this weekend) then I see a Poole/Belle Vue grand final.
