Out of the three league's who are the ten riders that that they feel have made strides in 2016.? Here goes mine are Thorssell,Fricke,Nilsson,Ellis,Bellego, Carr,Dean,Mountain,Hume,Parkinson Blackburn other mentions to Bewley (best rookie for years)Clegg, Jacobs,Smith,Wood.

I would rank Bates above Clegg. Not sure I'd include Fricke (even with his title), He hasn't moved on at league level as much as I expected, mind you he could make up for that on Wednesday night.

Hmmm not easy... In the NL, i think first you have to look at Brums Team, you have a number of riders there Hume, Parkinson Blackburn, Smith, Bacon, Then at Perks in the last few weeks, then across at Kent, Thomas, over at IOW has to be Stoneman, and of course as you say Young Bewley.. Clegg has improved, but he started from a high point anyways.. but not enough to be classed as a biggest improver...

Im not much up on other Leagues, but BWD, Starke, S.Worrall,

Bacon Stoneman Ayres and young Henry Atkins were all impressive in the Swindon v Coventry challenge match the other week.Be great to think they can progress to the PL Ayres being a late starter has done well there he to could improve again.

15 is a lot to pluck out, especially if you're not up with the PL / NL scene.

My select few:

Ellis

Thorssell

King

Tungate

Masters

Starke

Rose

S. Worrall

Kennett

It's all very subjective, but I agree that Kennett should go in there. He came to Lakeside 2 seasons ago with confidence almost at rock bottom but his confidence in his sweeps round the fence has been remarkable. His race with Doyle in the Lakeside -v-Swindon A fixture was , for me , probably the Race of the season.

Danny King has had a blinder of a season. Increased his average despite riding as a heat leader all season. Just seems to be a better rider these days, got a bit more about him.

As for Kennett, the guy was an 8 point EL rider a few seasons ago, hardly improved has he?

Kennett has never ever ever achieved an 8+ average in the Elite League his whole career.

7.92 is his highest ever average in 2009.

Excluding 2011 from which he was banned for cheating he's been a 5-5.5 average man.

He's gone from 5.86 (2015) to 7.16 (2016).

Or even your own sites numbers show 6.33 (2015) to 7.89 (2016).

IMO Kennett has improved greatly as he rightly suffered bad after his 6 month ban.

To take 7 years to achieve a 7+ average is improvement and 20+% on the previous seasons average is brilliant in anyone book.

Kennett now for me is in the top eight PL riders also he did improve last year just over 7 in the EL not bad also he had to wait until Swiderski was released. The big surprise for me was he was really flying up until the Scunthorpe semi final really surprised he was eliminated and if you look he gated quite well in the Semi final.

If only the BSPA had allowed young riders to ride in the European U21's …. Extra experience on European tracks against strong opposition.

Can't quite work out why permission was refused or indeed how it would have done anything other than improve our youngsters.

Richie Worrall has bounced back from his disappointing season at Somerset last year , to be Glasgow's number 1 at the end of the season , after starting it fourth in the averages .

Young Bewley was making massive strides until injury stopped him in his tracks , he will start next season on an average of around three and a half , he'll easily double that next season .

Paul Starke has upped his game a couple of levels this season and Ryan Douglas has impressed me everytime I've watched him .

Maybe other country's governing bodies support their young talent financially , our mob don't
