Star Lady
never read something so ridiculous and pathetic on this forum!! Did you read the twitter comments??? No you quite clearly didn't. There were a lot of comments from lots of people probably over 100 easily who were behind Tai. 2 keyboard warriors thought it would be cool to have a dig at his wife and unborn child and you think that he should have ignored them!!! Do the maths over 100 people on Tai's side and 2 people having a pop. Multiply that at Cardiff and the people that don't like Tai won't even be heard. Tai reacted on Twitter over nothing to do with speedway. When you don't know the facts best to keep your big trap shut. Blimey you made so many faux pas recently it's embarrassing for you!!! For balance I would point out that a lot of folk have been blocked by Woffinden, therefore the figures are slightly skewed. A Bit like doing a political poll in a Conservative club
bruno
Must admit if Tai does well at Cardiff il have mixed feelings whether to cheer or not, would rather have Cookie having a good meeting. If Tai won it wouldn't be the same as Bomber or even the disappoint when Scott got to the final and was passing riders for fun but touched the tapes in the final. Was that the year after Bomber won?
waytogo28
I think Tai is a great rider and at his best is thrilling to watch. He has proven record of winning but my enthusiasm for him is waning. I feel he has distanced his fans and by withdrawing from the GB team has lost a lost of support that was his automatically as a Brit. I will be cheering on Cookie more than Tai I must admit. Cobwebs at King's Lynn that is a symptom of lack of interest in the club and there is now no "boss" who still cares enough to look around carefully or to listen. Sad fact.
Sidney the robin
I really believe this forum does not represent how most diehard speedway fans feel about Tai.Myself i am a Tai fan and his stance on the Britain situation is down to what he believes in and he has every right to do this.He has not given his reasons why ( maybe a mistake.? ) he has not got into a personnal vendetta with anyone and he moves on in his career without Britain. For me a compromise could of been made how good would a core of a team with Woffinden,Cook,Lambert been for the future? something to build on anyway. At Cardiff i hope Tai gets a good reception i think he will as most of us know there are always two sides to every story and hopefully both parties can come together in the future and sort out there differences. Also this notion that Tai owes Britain something is total nonsense his job is to do what is best for himself and his family which we all do in whatever walk of life we are in. Gr8scot
Correct me if I'm wrong but this thread is for Speedway World Cup 2017 and that is what I want to read about and discuss Would it be too much to ask that the Tai "debaters" head for the Tai thread? Or better stil..... leave the guy alone!!! His life.... his business!!! Team GB won on Saturday and go to the final on Saturday which is something to be very proud of and celebrate!!!
Daniel Smith
Looking at the teams from Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Australia and Latvia GB have a great chance for silver in the final. Poland are way ahead of the rest of the world right now and for me, the winners isn't in doubt. The difference between 2nd and 4th in the final will be not a lot, if we finish 4th, as long as a fight has been put up I'll be very proud of this "team". bellevueace
Fact is he has no interest in representing his country so that's irrelevant.
Daniel Smith
We'd have a much better chance with Tai Woffinden in for Lambert and Lambert at reserve, though. Of course but that's not GB's problem, the rider has the problem but as above this thread needs to move on from Woffinden. Our current 4 have a great chance of matching last year's silver, what a brilliant achievement that would be.
Grachan
Fact is he has no interest in representing his country so that's irrelevant. It's not irrelevant. It's wishful thinking. And I actually think he is quite keen to represent GB but is frustrated and trying to make a point.
ouch
A agree about him not owing UK speedway anything. I had a similar conversation with my wheelchair bound Nan. She paid for my uni and helped me set up my own business which now makes £1000's a week. She wanted me to give her a lift to the daycare centre and even asked me to fork out for a stair lift! Some people! I think if we added a nought to his and his entourages fee his "principles" would alter.
Woz01
It's not irrelevant. It's wishful thinking. And I actually think he is quite keen to represent GB but is frustrated and trying to make a point. But what are his actual issues regarding GB now? Most of the points he has raised regarding GB (which were probably valid) have been or are being addressed. I believe its because its not being done the way he wanted or using people he wanted but no way should he or any other rider dictate that, that's not his job.
stevebrum
You can lead the way of the apologists but many have had a gut full of his me me me attitude and will not be cheering him on in Cardiff. Craig Cook will get a far bigger reception, and deservedly so. Lets be honest here Woffinden has lost a huge chunk of his support with his current stance. It's an argument that those who have an axe to grind with Tai use every time. Woffy will still get a huge roar every time his name is mentioned. He may well have lost some support with his stance but that won't be affected in Cardiff. Cook is currently on a crest of a wave with his form right now so I fully expect the crowd will give him as big if not a bigger cheer. He will have earned that right. Woffy is already one of our most successful British riders of all time, so he has nothing to prove and will get huge support as always. Obviously proof will be evident on the day! It will be interesting to see what does happen if these points are adressed. It certainly seems to be the case regarding nutrition at least! He did, of course, make himself available for the World Games so there is certainly some common ground there, but it remains to be seen. There's no point rying to second guess people I suppose. It's just a shame. With Tai in the side we'd be odds on for a silver medal again I reckon so I wish everyone on all sides would just get together and sort out whatever needs to be sorted out. Mark
Cards on table. Realistically GB will finish a last on Saturday but will show loads of fight.. Cook will go quite well and may get 10pts from 5 rides with a joker played, Lambert 7pts but the other two will struggle. Bomber is a lovely trier who you cant help but like however he will struggle (5pts max) whilst Worrall has a hard night ahead. He may not get more than 2pts. Ellis 0pts. If GB get 25pts it will be a success but we could a few less. Sweden to win tonight. Either Australia, only if Doyle rides, or Denmark to win the play off. We was all told last year that Tai would be booed.......he wasnt Shovlar likes to think he speaks for a majority......look at the Poole fans on the Poole thread taking him to task over it. The fact remains that probably bar Cook that Tai will get the loudest reception at Cardiff.

We know you don't like Tai you mention it in every post but yet you are quick to tell people to stop going on about KK on the Poole threads! Total hypocrite Steve is right, Tai treats speedway in this country with distain, one of the main reasons, is money. Its not here.
New Yorker
Wow,I'm looking forward to tonight's meeting and even have some butterflies just thinking about it. IMO each team has at least two riders who could be on and really influence the outcome. Two riders to never underestimate are AJ and Grigory Laguta. I will be working while this is going on but thanks to YouTube won't miss anything......can't wait!!
Rickyb
Cobwebs at King's Lynn that is a symptom of lack of interest in the club and there is now no "boss" who still cares enough to look around carefully or to listen. Sad fact. In a place as big as the AFA it would be very easy to miss one little cobweb you must be running out of things to moan about (though that's unlikely) I think Buster and his crew did a great job getting the stadium ready considering the weather we had all that week.

So in one breath you say that he treats it with disdain and then the next say money is one of the reasons! Of course its a main reason, when the better money is abroad why bother riding here?? How many top boys ride here? 3 If Doyle becomes World Champ he may leave. Why should Tai have to ride somewhere he doesnt want to? Maybe he could come back towards the season end and replace KK
