Daniel Smith
If you think this was a poor meeting just be grateful you weren't at Lynn on Wednesday! Â Just be grateful there were no Aussie's in it, that track tonight was far worse that "That Thursday" Credit to all the riders who just got on with it
Ghostwalker
Well it is hardly surprising that fans stay away when the weather was like it was. It was for the same reason expected that the racing and track quality would be pretty bad. Rospiggarna have a fairly good attendance of almost 4000 on average per meeting. Had the weather been steadily nice I think the crowd would have been pretty good. There isn't anything one can do about the weather. Sure they could have covered the track and held the meeting tomorrow but you know what it's like with TV and the polish clubs. We can be glad/relieved that there weren't any injuries because of the track and etc. Edited August 5, 2017 by Ghostwalker

OveFundinFan
Meeting repeated on Eurosport this morning, Sunday, just 1 hour, so very much the highlights - which might be best as it was an average meeting, but weather played its part in that. Â Not seen Smolinski go so wide to do overtakes.
nw42
Rubbish meeting in front of a small crowd. Not sure there's much of a future for this event.. Â Compared to gp it is rubbish in every possible way to be honest and it looks like the fans think the same with the amount there. I thought last season's SEC provided some great speedway, plenty to rival the GP series, as Ghostwalker says it's all down to luck with weather and this time they copped out. There is no doubt the quality of line-up has dropped over the past 3 years.Certainly from last year to this year a fair bit.Nicki being injured,Emil going to the GPs and now Laguta being banned. We are moving back to how the European Championship used to look before One Sport took over. The future might well be in doubt for this style of series. Not sure how long the contract lasts. That isn't to say you can't get good speedway with such a line up,but i attended the earlier version and know how many it attracted,or should i say,how few. Of course though, the weather takes its toll.I won't even consider leaving the house now for a meeting where the weather is anything less than good.I still wonder about that Güstrow crowd.Numbers from 4,000 to 5,000,but i was at Holsted on wednesday where the crowd was over 4,000 and Güstrow looked far more than that.Bends 1 and 2 at Holsted were sparsely populated and nowhere looked overly crowded
Ghostwalker
I think that Roslagsloppet also drew some spectators away. https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roslagsloppet http://roslagsloppet.com/
waiheke1
Decent first four heats. Pick being Smolinski the curb crawler. KK showing some speed. Poor crowd. SEC not pulling the fans through the turnstiles. Â What has happened to Piotr Pawlicki? Having a mare. Bad season everywhere. Rain at heat 9. KK showing his Poole form of mobile chicane. Â No one watching this? Wrong Pawlicki? And I thought he'd been having a decent season, just poor in this one.DON'T bother ... poorReally? I thought given the conditions there was some decent racing.I thought last season's SEC provided some great speedway, plenty to rival the GP series, as Ghostwalker says it's all down to luck with weather and this time they copped out.Agree, the Daugvspils meeting last year I'd one of the great meetings of all time. This season the line up is down in quality, though milik and lebedev are great to watch. Racing this year has still been pretty decent imo
OveFundinFan
Only 2 of the SEC riders worthy of a sniff at the GP's and that is Milk and Lebedevs - only if they can keep their current form up. Â Are both of them still in the GP Challenge???

Are both of them still in the GP Challenge??? Only Milik.A Laguta is also still in and would be competitive, as too would be Bjerre or Pawlicki. But agree that Milk and kebedevs are the only two I would want in the GPS from that line up.
