There were numerous promises from the rider himself about a new engine arriving that went on for several weeks. It never did arrive. Not surprised , don't think Belle Vue were very good at paying for anything . But was Fricke actually a Monarchs asset in the first place ? I'm sure I was told , when he came over to ride after the meetings at a few tracks the season before he rode for Edinburgh , that Wolverhampton had signed him up .
