We mock anyone who is a Tigger though.

Same as you do to any Monarch before you sign them.

Mitch might never be a star but I think folk appreciate what he's gone through and how he keeps battling back.

And of course the league is at a lower standard next season.

And of course he got us the win at Scunny to annoy one or two people!!

Mitch's NL average last season, when he was #1 at Coventry ahead of Liam Carr is around eight and a half --- about the same as guys like Dan Bewley, Ellis Perks, Danny Ayres, Ben Wilson and Tom Perry.

If he's going to run at that level as a #7 in the Championship -- presumably as a 3 -- then I'd repeat it is a no-brainer to include him if the final rider's average allows it.

That was his forte though . He was good round proper speedway tracks like Scunny , Sheffield and Somerset . He was never comfortable looking round Ashfield and the likes of Armadale ...........well . First time I watched him there he couldn't quite negotiate the first bend .

Think that is a point he would do a job at No7 but you can't see him suddenly improving as much as the other younger No7's.

You don't unearth Dan Bewley's very often and Edinburgh stumbled onto him more by luck than judgement last season after struggling to attract a three point reserve for the money they were offering . Mitchell was who was widely touted to fill that spot last winter , presumably as he was local and not expensive , before passport issues intervened . So it's a fair bet he will be included .

Saw him ride at Somerset when he was at Berwick had a superb meeting that night but sadly never kicked on after that never comfortable on the Berwick track.

I think Davey's career results are due to a lack of ability rather than his injuries. He'll do a job at number seven but can't see him improving too much.

I would agree with the first half of your statement.

As to the second half, depends what you want. Of course, it's almost impossible to unearth a Bewley every year, but you should be trying to build a team who are on the way up, and improving.

All this talk about being a nice guy, or he deserves a chance because he never got it last year, or even he'll do a job at number 7 may be fine for some. But I will repeat again - he has been around for donkeys years and NEVER shown much ability to do anything. Why would that change suddenly now?

If he's included at 7, I see that as very much a defeatist and non-ambitious attitude by the Monarchs management, which would be a surprise to me.
