StevePark
does anybody think that this match might have been thrown, to avoid the fixture congestion with Glasgow ??? and maybe not have to run the day after the D/D No (but you knew that anyway )
leander
Try Scunthorpe. I've been so many times this season. Not because I support them, but because the racing has been fantastic! Then why haven't they won track of the year? Answer:- Cos it's like racing on a bog for five or six heats, as it's usually flooded. And four inches deep. (It's the only track I've been to where they water it half an hour before the start (AFTER teams have done the track walk) while it's been raining!!! Then they don't touch it for the entire meeting, so that it's as slick as a baby's b*m on the inside and all the grip is on the outside 4/5 feet. If you think the racing there is fantastic you've obviously never been to the old Trelawny track in cornwall. THAT was a track and a half. (inside a quarry). I'd go three or four times a year even though it was 800 mile round trip.
TheScotsman
Trelawny was indeed a great little track. Not so good when the fog came down and you still had to drive back!!
Tsunami
Trelawny was indeed a great little track. Not so good when the fog came down and you still had to drive back!! When the fog came down it was like you were in a Film making studio. Very James Bondish and scary.

Reviresco
A bit like Foxhall Heath in June
TheScotsman
And October. Have they ever raced there in October before?!!!!!
Reviresco
Without fog? Always raced at Foxhall in October "back in the day". Wasn't the 1984 Cup Final 2nd Leg on the last Sunday in the month, even after BST had ended? A good time for Halloween on the Heath. Remember a meeting on Good Friday being snowed off too before the evening meeting at Waterden Road was held in bright sunshine. Foxhall micro climate of its own

Disagree with you on that, I've seen some of the best races this season down at Scunthorpe. Track is wet yes but it suits the track to be wet. Think riders like Kerr and MPT who turned their seasons around by signing for Scunny will put half of it down to winning races again on a good track.
