robbieblackadder fan club
poor performance from Kus and Robson and a dreadful heat 15 Cost us, a heat advantage in heat 15 would have won us the meeting that's the facts the riders on the night did not do it, if they had we would be through simples , you can make up all sorts of excuses about guest but the facts are there our top men should not be getting beat in heat 15....................................
Fromafar
but thats all it was last night, 4 riders, 4laps, and strung out like washing most of the time, apart from a few dodgy refereeing decisions but thats all it was last night, 4 riders, 4laps, and strung out like washing most of the time, apart from a few dodgy refereeing decisions Bit like Berwick over the last couple of seasons. Steve Irving
Bit like Berwick over the last couple of seasons. The Sheffield fans also seem to be saying similar as well. Seems to be a trend unfortunately and there's an ever decreasing number of tracks that seem to be serving up good Speedway on a regular basis. Even in the EL King's Lynn (which always had a good rep for producing good racing) has come under fire in recent seasons, mostly from their own supporters. graz gp
The Sheffield track used to have loads of grip on it, but now its just gate and go. Its rubbish and I am seriously thinking about not going next season.

Blackadder
Just for Sheffield fans, the next fixtures are the 10th at Sheffield and the 13th at Glasgow. Will pigs be seen flying again?
lucifer sam
Just for Sheffield fans, the next fixtures are the 10th at Sheffield and the 13th at Glasgow. Will pigs be seen flying again? Or even Sheffield on 13th and Glasgow on 16th. All the best Rob

Reviresco
Well done the Sheffield Select. Had Diamonds down as PL Champions this season. Sheffield for the Final then as it is "Central" and a "great track" - isn't that why they have the PLRC there?

I've been so many times this season. Not because I support them, but because the racing has been fantastic!

Halifaxtiger
Try Scunthorpe. I've been so many times this season. Not because I support them, but because the racing has been fantastic! Me too. By far and away the best track in the country. I sincerely believe that home supporters are outnumbered by others (neutrals, aways etc) at all meetings simply because of the quality of the speedway backed by Rob Godfrey's centre green performances and the fact that he has no unnecessary delays. The Sheffield track used to have loads of grip on it, but now its just gate and go. Its rubbish and I am seriously thinking about not going next season. I agree (and I know several others who feel the same) - nowhere near as good as it used to be or could be.
Blackadder
Given that Graham Trollope does both tracks, why can't the racing be similar?

ruffdiamond
Like everyone having a pop both from Newcastle and other teams, we should have walked this one, even with their guests, but we didn't and now we need to concentrate on salvaging the situation and win the KOCup. Dissappointed as I am, Newcastle Diamonds have had a cracking year and put us back among the main contenders again, slowly moving up the league with meetings in hand, and getting some great wins and performances both at home and away. The PO's are gone as they are for some other teams, but at least we have had a great season, and still have to KOCup to look forward to. The PO's are Glasgow's to lose now. Bring it on. does anybody think that this match might have been thrown, to avoid the fixture congestion with Glasgow ??? and maybe not have to run the day after the D/D Edited October 4, 2016 by ruffdiamond
leander
does anybody think that this match might have been thrown, to avoid the fixture congestion with Glasgow ??? and maybe not have to run the day after the D/D Not really. Double header at Glasgow 1 week, double header at Newcastle the next or vice versa. (assuming we disposed of Rye house over two legs). I just hope on sunday Johnny pumps 10000 gallons of water ON the track in the morning with a lot more dirt. track surface on sunday suited Sheffield. Far too slick for us. Not taking anything away from Sheffield tho. They were simply better at Newcastle than we were at Sheffield. End of.
